Using his lecture notes to study for his tests are the equivalent to being given a 5000 piece puzzle that you must assemble and will never quite know is put together correctly until you're tested on it. While he really is a nice guy, and extremely knowledgeable person, he makes absolutely everything much more complicated than it needs to be.

I find Hogg's lectures to be extremely difficult to follow, his diagrams and notes are very unclear and don't flow well at all. He is very knowledgeable but doesn't have a lot of teaching skills. It is a passable class, however you will have to do some work. He's a nice guy and wants you to pass, but yea not a very good instructor.

Nice guy, helpful if you take the time to go to his extra sessions. Little hard to learn from at times, hes quiet spoken. though. A good sense of humor when he chooses to show it.

Pleasant personality. Speaks somewhat monotone, without enough passion, and has a soft airy voice; his voice doesn't resonate. Answers to questions can be vague and confusing. Moves too fast sometimes through material. If homework isn't perfect, a lot of marks go down the drain. Knowledgeable man though.
