Professor Karson is not what everyone says here on rate my professor. He is extremely nice and tries his best to remind everyone when things are due. I have taken him for police system and correctional system class and passed both with a B. You just need to do your work and study to pass his class. He does give weekly homework but its really easy.

He's a very knowledgeable professor. He does assign homework but it's college. He relates his lectures to real life situations which I love & provides you w/information on job offers within your major. He's unique compared to other professors. I disliked when he crammed through power points and they weren't uploaded to BB. You have to catch up!

Dr. Karson is one of two of my favorite professors at UHD. A lot of students claim that he is tough and he is however isnt that why we pursue an education? To learn? Dr. Karson provides good feedback on papers and other assignments. If you really want to earn your degree and learn a lot, I would absolutely recommend him. The best of the best

Karson is a interesting professor he's not so bad do all his papers which are one page essays on short readings, and do good on his midterm and final and you should be ok. You really have to read the book on your own because he flys through his lectures wich is hard to take good notes to study on so reading is a must. I wish he gave better notes.

No reviews before Tests, ask questions during class. Find a study buddy because that will help. Hard grader on the book review. You must go on 2 Police Ride-Alongs ( Highest grade you can get for that is a B).

He is an great professor, you will pass easily as long as you go to his class and listen to his powerpoint slides. You don't really need to take a lot of notes but it's helpful at times because he gives a pop quiz once and then. About four tests and 2 short book essays.

I dont understand why people do not like him. I got a B in his court systems class. He makes you read and write short essays, but what is college without reading. It helps your writing skills and also makes you read. I am taking him again for police systems.

AVOID IN GENERAL!!! REALLY JUST GIVES YOU 3 TESTS AND A BUNCH OF POINTLESS ESSAYS TO WRITE, HE FEELS THAT THIS IS THE ONLY CLASS SOMEONE IS TAKING AND FEELS THAT YOU NEED TO WORRY ABOUT IT MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE, PLEASE THIS IS A CORE CLASS NOT EVEN AN UPPER LEVEL CLASS GET OVER YOURSELF (VERY RUDE AS WELL & GIVES A LOT OF OPINIONS WE DON'T NEED)

Extremely KNOWLEDGEABLE! His lectures could be interesting - If you READ and DO the WORK! You should be Good. Midterm and final is a little bit difficult. RIDE ALONGS are cool in replace for a major paper grade! Great professor! I don't regret taking him - You really do learn in his Policing Class. I loved it. Hard A.

...When the mid term grades came in the class avg was in the mid 60?s. This should have told him that the majority of the class was struggling but instead he called it a ?learning experience?. I do not recommend him. I say this because I do not feel he is an effective professor?please do not set yourself up for failure.

This review is not intended to bash Karson or to make him look bad, but words cannot express how highly disappointed I was with this professor. I honestly do not feel as if I learned anything, each day consisted of a power point that should have reinforced the chapter. I do not feel these power points were helpful at all. There was no break down or

I will avoid this teacher in the future whenever possible. This class is READING INTENSIVE and there are so many papers and writting assignments. He doesnt give you any work back, so throughout the semester you have no idea how you are doing. He goes on rambles for extended periods of time. AVOID, I did not learn ANYTHING this semester!
