There is a lot of required reading in this class. She makes the discussions very enjoyable, though. Im an avid reader but have always despised the classics, which is pretty much all this course covers, yet it was okay for me. Participate in class and youll understand even if you didnt read the night before. Nicest lady ever.

Every class is the exact same: come in having read assigned material, take a group quiz (15-30 minutes), turn in quiz, discuss quiz for rest of class (and she won't care if you don't pay attention). It is incredibly easy to pass if you show up, put your name on a quiz, and do the mid-term and final exams. Take her if you need a laid-back class.

Don't do what I did and not read the books. Also pay attention in class. She doesn't use Canvas so good luck knowing your grade. I'm fairly certain if you show up and pay attention you'll get an A in the class, and she is very sweet. Recommend this class for literature lovers and lazy people who need a lit class.

Dr. Dawkins is so sweet, she's seriously the nicest professor I've had, but not only that she's truly an amazing teacher. She is very patient and gives great lectures and makes sure that you understand the material. She truly cares if you pass the class. She makes the class easy because of her clear expectations for how to succeed. She's the best!!

Dawkins is a great professor! She is so caring and makes class pretty easy. As long as you show up, you will be golden. You can really tell she's passionate about literature as well. If you ever struggle with a paper go in to her office hours and she is super helpful. Totally recommend her, I'm taking another of her classes.

Just show up to class to get the quiz grades and do your reading. I referred to 105 as a "book club" because the class was small and we did mainly just literary analysis. Your guaranteed at least a B if you show up to class and write the papers(We only did a total of three). She's really easy going, always smiling, and clear in her discussions.

IF you go to class and relatively listen, then look over your stuff before the test, you can get a B easy. But you have to go to class everyday to get quiz grades and looking over the quizzes is helpful for the tests. If you put in a smidgen of effort, no way you won't pass, a decent effort, you're guaranteed a B.

She is an excellent teacher. I left the class with a much better understanding of many types of literature. This class can be demanding because of the reading assignments, but it is not terrible. It is very important to pay attention in class because she tests over the terms and quotes she discussed.

She is an excellent teacher. The class was discussion based with group quizzes at the beginning of class. She is very flexible on deadlines for papers. She is very nice and is glad to help you. Classroom discussions for every period and group quizzes over the assigned reading material. Wrote 2 essays during the semester and a research paper at the end. Really flexible with deadlines. Probably the best teacher I've had so far. Made discussions really interesting. I recommend her highly to anyone with the option to take her as a professor.

Fantastic teacher. Dr. Dawkins is very knowledgeable in her subject area and knows what she's doing. Assigns a few papers during the semester but she is flexible about deadlines, which is great if you are taking a heavy load. She's a very nice lady and really cares about her students. One of the sweetest teachers on campus. Her classes are really easy, but you still learn. Her lectures are very insightful, and she really does have an incredible amount of knowledge on her subjects. Grades come mostly from open-ended group quizzes, midterm/final, and a few essays. She's also really lenient on due dates.

Dr. Dawkins may very well be my favorite instructor at MSU. I previously had no interest in humanities. Dawkins changed this. She is one of those rare teachers that loves what she does, and it shows! She has so much enthusiasm for her subject, that you can't help but have it, too. MSU is lucky to have her. The university needs MORE Laura Dawkins'.

Laura Dawkins is a saint. I had a mishap with my take-home final and argument paper, and she allowed me to take an "Incomplete" for the semester and finish it when I got back. She knows what she is doing and helps you as much as you need. Read the stories and essays she assigns you, and you will have NO trouble in this class.

Prof is GREAT! Super helpful, a bit boring sometimes, but easy to talk to and understand. Covers a lot of material, tests come straight from stories and if you take notes on what she says, you'll ace the tests. Midterms are great too. Flexible with due dates and provides great commetns on papers. Very helpful, take at any cost!!! :)
