First off, I had to drop the class after the first exam. I didn't know what to expect and it kicked my butt. Be sure to attend class even though it's not mandatory. DiCaprio moved way too fast through the material for my liking. I'm hoping for the best for next semester!

She's a great professor. The class is extremely hard and is considered a "weed-out". We had at least 50 kids drop from my class after the first exam. If you took AP Bio and did alright, you should be fine. We've yet to have an exam average higher than a 70, so watch out.

She is extremely helpful and willing to meet with you if you are confused. The class is very hard and fast paced. You have to be ready to devote a lot of time and studying to it (it is a weed-out class). I would not recommend taking the class unless you need it for your major. She does not curve.

Dicaprio is a pretty decent teacher, but this class is extremely difficult no matter who is teaching you. Do not fool yourself into thinking you can blame the professor if you do poorly in this class, you must study CONSISTENTLY in order to do well.

Worst teacher Ive ever had. Tests are literally impossible unless you are a Biology major. She tries to show off how smart she is and she basically tells you to drop the class after failing the first test.

I loved DiCaprio as a teacher. She was very helpful and gave good lecture notes. However the class was the hardest class I've ever taken. Unless your a Bios major and need the course, dont take it. Its a weed out course and extremely difficult. If you take this class prepare to slave your life away trying to get even a C.

She isn't a bad teacher but her lectures are not organized at all and she often goes off on tangent and rarely stays on task. I found it more helpful to teach myself the material. It was also very frustrating to find out the other teacher gave her class outlines for each chapter. Overall, I would not recommend taking this class with her

Great teacher! She is very helpful with any questions you may have. SHe is very good about setting up a meeting around your schedule if you have a question. She is always enthusiastic and she expect you to be too. If you are up for a challenge and you want to have an entertaining Bios class, sign up fhr Dr. DiCaprio's Bios 170, she makes it fun!

Nice professor, however difficult subject to catch up on after missing a few lectures. Write notes on your notes on those notes from lecture... Exams were straight forward, very standard questions however provided broad and vague answers to the provided question.

she's a bit of a dits and she has a hard time staying on one topic. I tried to take notes in her class but i could never follow her train of thought long enough to follow what she said. VERY DIFFICULT class. Her tests are way too detailed and are not a fair assessment of your knowledge. DO NOT TAKE IT WITH HER UNLESS YOU HAVE TO!

Class was hard, but passable, you just need to make sure to attend, Dicaprio was a great teacher, she is very very into what she is teaching and it makes it hard not be interested. If you must take the Bio 170 series I defiently recommend her as a teacher.

This class can be tough if you don't dedicate the proper amount of time to it. She is a great professor who is passionate about her job. Go to class and review and read the chapters. As long as you understand the basics in the book, and supplement the details from Mastering Bio, you should do ok. If not...well it is a weed out course.
