Dr. Snyder is passionate about philosophy, she has a brilliant mind and is there for you everyday after class to further explain the readings if you don't understand but you have to do your part ! She reminds me of Monica from Friends. She looks like her and is passionate about philosophy. I really loved taking this class, but I can see why other people might not. I loved her lectures because they were interesting to me. If you don't focus it's easy to not know what's going on, but she encourages questions and will rephrase info a lot for u

This lady was amazing. She had an obvious passion for philosophy and genuinely wanted to share it with us. After taking her class I added a phil minor. She assigned a lot of readings, but only had two essays the whole semester with no tests or quizzes. Graded by participation. Even wout doing readings, I participated enough to get an A. LOVEHER

Easy peasy. made comments and asked lots of questions. No exams, just some papers. Just take down what she says in class and what she writes. Write what she wants in your papers. Easy A. Don't take her! She makes everything seem cool until its to late to drop the class and then the when you get a grade for the first assignment she grades like a psycho. She takes philosophy way to seriously. A class based on YOUR thoughts. She wants you basically to put plato and aristotle's brain in your head. Save yourself!

I am taking this class online right now and I do not enjoy it. She told me my essay was unclear and I didn't understand the readings. When I read this, I sent it to my Ethics professor and he said the total opposite from her. Participation is a must if you want to pass. I wish I dropped this class.

Everyone complains about the amount of work she gives out. I took her for an online course and she is by far one of the easiest Professors to take. The readings were pretty boring. But one post a week and a minimum of three for the group debate? The final is a little confusing, but she is willing to help if you ask for it. Take her online.

If you are the least bit interested in Philosophy do not take this course with her. She will drain the interest out of you. Just pick up some great philosophy books and teach yourself. You can put in all the effort and get nowhere. Her teaching techniques are questionable, especially for someone who has been teaching as long as she has.

She ruined the subject matter for me. Even after putting in 110% studying, completing all assignments and making an effort, she contradicts herself and grades accordingly. The "connections" to the readings were useless and did not help. Final Paper topic: either debate her on her life's work or get slammed in a simple topic.DO NOT TAKE

It was an online class, but a lot of work. I had to post twice per week, in response to readings and other posts. A lot of reading, many many pages of Descartes. If you stay on top of the work, you'll do well. Otherwise take someone else.

She seems nice, bu her online class is ridiculous, she's way to intense about posting and nonsense. the reading is way to long for no reason at all and posting is like mini essays twice a week. shes all about length. if you have a demmanding major, you'd be better off sitting in a boring classroom.

I think if u think a little and show that in your assignment you will do fine; if u think about it we waste time on our laptops anyway so might as well enroll in an online class and do HW My online experience was great in this class for people w/ long commutes and who want 18 credits & have a shorter day
