Two essays, midterm and Final. You have to do all the readings because it is all on the midterm and the final. The class was not bad, however, it is mainly her just talking throughout the class about the books and discussing things that correlate with the books. Be ready to read, and be ready to be wide awake or falling asleep in class.

Monotonous and difficult class. Midterm and final based off of quotes from books and you need to name what book the quote is from. She grades extremely tough and has no hesitation in shaving off points for missing a very minor detail. Two papers comparing two different pieces of literature. Avoid this professor if you don't want to ruin your GPA.

Professor Silberman is a nice lady but the lectures are very boring. There's two papers, a midterm & final, and a few quizzes on the reading. The quizzes are very easy just make sure to actually read the book/chapters for it, she doesn't tell you when the quiz will be. The midterm and final are on quotes she says in class. Not too bad of a class.

She is kind of chill. There isnt alot of work but 2 papers that are 3-4 pgs and she grades it harshly but you can rewrite it as many times you want. Also there is a midterm and a final. Probably 2 pop quiz's which are easy. Participation counts! Sort of an easy class

Write down every single quote she says in class because it has a fair chance of being on the exam. That said, I would not cut/sleep in any of her classes because you'll definitely miss midterm/final material. It is a pretty easy class if you just read the books and answer her questions. She's supportive, kind, and understanding.

this is my second time taking her (first was shakespeare). this time around, the readings were much more boring and longer and the lecture was very very dry but if you read the books, it shouldn't be very hard to get around an A. She doesn't call on you often if you don't raise your hand but its good to participate bc she'll raise your grade.

One midterm/final. No MC questions, but really easy grader. If you read the books, you won't need to study. Two essays (make sure you have a good thesis and somewhat restate the thesis related to your paragraph in each body paragraph). Allows one rewrites (avg the two original and rewrite grade). Participate for half a letter grade bump.

She's a very nice lady, but she can go on about a book for the whole lecture and it gets boring really fast. You have to read tons of books and make sure you read if you want to do good. Participate a lot and she'll bump you up half a letter grade. Midterm and final, non cumulative. 2 essays and you have a chance to rewrite them if you want.

Silberman was great! she knows a lot about Shakespeare. The lectures tend to drag on but thankfully its only an hour and 15 in class. Lots of reading and sparknotes will not cut it if you want to participate in the discussion. If you read the books, you will do fine on the tests and 2 papers. she will raise your grade if you participate

Prof is amazing. Just read and participate. Class was always smooth, tests are easy, grading is clear. Nice professor who knows alot and is really friendly. Even allows rewrites. Everyone who is complaining wants an A for sitting in the chair and browsing their laptop. Don't listen to the undeserving students, she is awesome. Take her for anyclass.

She was a nice professor. Extremely helpful and understanding. She gave us our essay's back and allowed everyone to rewrite for a better grade. Make sure you do the reading and take notes of what pages she goes out of her way to mention!.

You read throughout the semester many books, and don't really discuss it in class. If you like English, reading, and writing, don't take this class. All you will do in class is get questions, and you give an answer, but wont find out if it's right or not, instead you get another question. I can question the text at home. Don't need help with that.

First of all, the material itself is quite difficult. In addition, she is an extremely hard grader, and her requirements are high as hell. She doesn't write any notes on board. A lot of books are needed (about 8-9 books)but the usefulness of books is very low, just like several pages from each book for the most part.
