I definitely recommend her class if you actually want to do something with your life. College isnt a supposed to be a walk in the park, you have to actually try. If you give effort and actually try then she will work with you.

I wanted to like this class so bad but every time I went to her class I hated it more and more. She is an older lady that is very unclear and unorganized. She givens no direction on any papers or projects until you turn it in. Then she rips you apart. She says she wants to help you but she does not make it easy to find time to get help.

The class was a total waste of time. Strictly busy work. I learned nothing. She does not post any grades online until you receive your final grade. Assignments rarely relate to what is being covered in class. Directions are not clear at all and expectations are not communicated.

Laverne is underrated on this site. I thought she was helpful and I learned a lot. She initially came off as cold & strict, but once I talked to her outside of class I realized she is a cool professor. She is extremely intelligent and has a funny sense of humor. If you work hard, she will like you. Give her a chance!

I was pleasantly surprised with Laverne. I initially had low expectations bc of what I read on this site, but she was not a bad teacher at all. She initially comes off with a cold as closed off, but she actually has a funny sense of humor and is easy to talk with when you seek help. She is really smart & fair. Give her a chance!

This professor will make you hate your life for 15 weeks. She mumbles, is unclear, changes directions because she can't remember what she says and tells everyone different things. Her group work is useless busy work. AVOID HER, nothing you can do will make this woman happy.

You need to make a good impression in her class by showing that you're taking the class seriously. She makes plenty of time for working individually with students and offers multiple opportunities to rewrite essays. If you do what's expected of you and make use of provided resources, you can succeed in her class.

She is a mean professor. I am an english major and she did her best to make us all feel stupid. From the word go she treated us like we were stupid and somehow against her. If you can avoid this ladylike the plague.

Worst teacher ever. This class was a waste of my life for three hours a week. Hours I'll never get back. She is extremely unclear and strict. She assigns pointless assignments and group work and has tests in which the whole class gets a C or below. Mumbles a lot and loses her train of thought easily. All in all terrible experience. I liked this class overall. Don't go into this class thinking that you won't have to work, because you obviously have to write papers. She's a nice person and usually gives the class as a whole second chances. I was scared on the first day but it didn't end up being as bad as I thought.
