Mylin is not a substantial teacher. It is very hard to learn from this man and especially hard to do well on his tests. Do your best to avoid him but if you have to take him then be ready to study hard and do poorly on the exams no matter what. There is a decent amount of extra credit which will be your life support in this class. good luck

Dr. Mylin seems to lecture on the hardest parts of this course. He tries really hard to put it into simple terms and keep you interested though. Make sure to read before the lecture and you'll be fine.

Oh Dr Mylin...What can I say?I did not like him at all. He cares about his advisees, but can be extremely rude at times. If you can, avoid taking lab with him. He will laugh at you and make you feel dumb when you ask a question. When he lectures, it is very hard to follow.In the end, he's knowledgable about Biology, but lacks some common courtesy.

Dr. Mylin is a very callous man, but he can be generous at times. He seems almost bothered when students ask him questions and loves to make fun of first year students. He also takes most of his test questions from very specific questions from the diagnostic quizzes on bioportal.

Mylin is extremely hard. He speaks above your head and when you ask him questions he will sometimes laugh at you. He did not teach this course at an Introductory Freshman level. Took BIO 101 at another college and got an A+ after failing his class. The labs are extensive and he is not helpful when explaining them. Be prepared to be on your own.

Dr. Mylin is extremely helpful and very passionate about what he teaches. He is one of the smartest people I have ever met and might make you feel stupid when you are talking to him but he is just trying to help you learn. He is also an extremely helpful advisor and always has his office door open.

Wow, going to his lectures were a waste of my time. He speaks above everyone and it is so hard to understand what he is talking about. He basically sets you up for failure because there is very little opportunity to get credit. Each exam covered 300 pages of text. This prof. is just plain ridiculous.

Great Prof! lectures are great, can be boring at times, but he throws in enough humor (if you get his humor) to make things interesting. He KNOWS his stuff, and you may feel stupid when talking to him, but don't worry--he's not trying to. lol. You have to work and earn your grade though!

LOVED this class. It's up to you to earn the grade you want and there's lots of studying involved, but very good prof! Gave lots of EC towards the end of the year. Helps review for exams. Makes it very possible to pass the class and is extremely knowledgable.

Lectures are long and boring, and he seriously talks for an hour before every lab. He gives more information than we'd ever need to know, but tells us to just learn the basic ideas for exams. Then we get the test and it has details on it that no one studied. Hard, but a really nice person.

Okay, this guy is a royal pain in the ass to do research for. He's brutally hard, anal, and grouchy....but you finish the semester knowing more than you ever thought possible. In other words, it's worth it!!!!
