The worst professor I've ever had. I can't stand this shaky, old, jerk of a teacher. Teaching methods are way outdated and extremely disengaging. He should have retired a long time ago. I really regret choosing him as my professor. Long story short, do NOT choose him if he's still there unless you are majoring in accounting and like terrible profs.

Prof Carl is GREAT! by far he is the best professor i have come across at st thomas! he knows so much and is so helpful! email him if you have questions on the quizzes- he will explain things more thoroughly! go to class, study the reviews he post on blackboard before the test. he reuses objective questions he post on blackboard on for the exam!

Very knowledgeable. He teaches a lot, without explaining anything. The book is useful for the extra clarification. Loved the format of his class, assigning homework but all due the day of the exams. He lets you turn things in late and retake the exams up to 3 times, which is very generous. He's not very personable, but I'd still recommend him.

He gives you every chance to succeed. You get bonus points for attending meetings and you can retake all your exams! As long as you do your work and do what he tells you, then you should be good for the class. And take advantage of all the practice work he gives you! A great professor.

He teaches you how to do everything you need to know but he doesn't explain it. The only way to get a bad grade in his class is if you do nothing. Tests are just like the homework and quizzes. Do the study guides. He will reuse questions.

Wow!! This class is hard!! You will know if you are cut out to be an accountant by the end of his class. I have seen people make grades as low as 15. I hope I am not scaring you, it is the truth.

The difficulty of this class is summed up by the fact that he plans make-up exams for you because he knows you won't do well. He could do a much better job explaining a lot of the concepts, but he doesn't. I heard he hasn't changed his teaching style in 30 years, which wouldn't surprise me one bit. He does offer extra credit, though.

I dont know why people dislike Carl! He is super nice and gives you every opportunity in the world to do well in the class. Its a hard class that takes effort, but you can retake all the exams..even the final!! If your an acct major, be thankful for Carl .. you will learn lots in the class! Bottom line, no easy A's in this class!

Professor Carl gives students every opportunity to succeed in his course. He provides all the answers to the homework; you can use your notes & textbooks on the quizzes & you can retake every exam including the final. Students who don't do well in his course are probably not doing anything at all. He is a great teacher! Being on time is crucial!

All i can say is watch out!!! this is not an easy class(intermediate accounting equities). This is where you draw the line if you want to become an accountant. If you can get past Carl then you are on your way. Many have tried and many have failed making those that failed change their major. Yes this is sad but it is true!

He is good but hard. By the end you will know accounting, but you need to try in his class. He wants you to do well. He offers retakes on all his exams, even the final, and gives study guides with sample questions and problems. The only thing that really bothered me was that he never really looks at you.

Not a hard professor if you pay attention. Never studied from the book just did homeworks to study for tests and made A. Never took make up tests. Just do the homework and go to class.

I would only recommend him if you are really sure you will become an Accountant. His class is extremely boring and that's what had me daydreaming. I tried my best but I ended up with a D-. I had to change my major

He is an ok professor. You can make an A in the class but only if you are willing to super pay attention in the class and do the homework. If you work hard it will pay off, but if not this class is not for you. He is a nice guy, friendly, but to those who he knows work hard.

Personally, I felt this course did not receive the essential instructional resources to prosper. Entered course with a >3.5 gpa and somehow practically failed the course... am taking a mgr acct course this semester and have an 95% in the class รข€" I continue to question this disparity. In the end, I was shockingly disappointedly to say it politely. U

Professor Carl has a great depth of knowledge in accounting. You will have to work though, and go to class. If you pay attention, take notes, read, and study you will do fine. He is not too fast or satanic, I took this class in the summer and fared just fine. Not a blow off, but I learned so much in his class. Quirky man, but great.

Great care toward his students. If one can get past his manerisms he is the best in terms of financial accounting. He might not be the best for something outside the theory courses since he has never been outside academia. Highly recommended.
