Lots of homework, but you were allowed to use notes on the test so I recommend actually doing the homework to better understand the material. Usually drops one test from entire grade. Lets you decide how you will be graded.

Hes such a sweet guy! He doesn't lecture very much so be ready to teach yourself. I have trouble teaching myself so this class wasn't my best class. Go to his office hours and talk to him. Actually do the homework and participate if you want to do well. Goodluck.

All you talk about in this class is baseball. Talk about a couple things from baseball when you go to class and you will have no problem passing. I did not do one page of homework and passed with an A. If you need one more Math class take this one.

I think Dr. Lee May is a pretty good guy, his class tends to be hard because he doesn't actually teach. You're basically forced to teach yourself from the book and then go over it with your peers the entire semester. It is very rare for him to lecture. But, if you are struggling he always tries his best to help!

I definitely recommend taking Dr. May! The lectures can be long, but the class is typically centered around students completing the homework and presenting the next day. There are three exams; one in class, half take home/ half in class, and take home. He takes away the lowest one of these three. Just participate during class and you'll get an A!

I wouldn't recommend taking Lee May if you need MATH 155. In class, you teach yourself and your peers, he barely does any teaching to his students. I'm a type of person who needs lecture and notes and he does not do that. He is available during office hours if you have questions and does have an SI. Sweet guy, yet doesn't teach in class.

Lee May was a great professor and I highly suggest him. All tests are open note (you only have 3 - one all in class, one half in class, half take home, last one take home) and he drops the lowest. You have to teach yourself out of the book but hes there to answer questions. Hes so sweet and loves what he does

I absolutely adore Dr. May, he is such a great guy. PARTICIPATE, easy points for presenting hw probs. He drops your lowest exam grade, and you get to use notes on every test. Homework isn't mandatory, but if you want to do well you need to do it. He is always willing to help. Cannot explain how much I love Dr. May, would definitely take him again.

If you can not learn on your own, DO NOT TAKE. The class is just reading the book, doing examples and going over them in class. He will answer any question you have, but will not teach it. He is the sweetest professor I have taken. 3 tests- all open note. 1 take home. Participate to get the most pts a day. Class is mandatory for the pts.

By far the easiest stat teacher. I think this was top 3 easiest classes I've taken at SU just because of him. Read the chapters to understand the material because all he does in class are problems, which help when it comes to tests. Tests are open note and easy enough. Hands down take him if possible.

I havent had math in years and did decent in this class. I didnt think I learned a lot but I enjoyed this class- (I HATE math) Glad I took it with May and would take again. You do have to teach yourself but tests are open book and he always answers and helps when needed.

This class was awesome. I took May for baseball statistics and it was so much fun! You got to pick your percentage weights so no tests are required. We would randomly go outside and play whiffle ball. Definitely not a boring class.

baseball stats class was an absolute joke, it was one day a week for the most 1.5 hours.. lee may is a boss and real laid back. went high to every class and presented one problem about baseball to the class of retards. Since I know alot about baseball it was a breeze.. make your own grade %. TAKE HIMMMMM

Mays is willing to work with you outside of the classroom but this class is all about teaching yourself. You try the problems on your own and then ask questions in class that other students will try to explain answers too. Mays rarely teaches. If you like to teach yourself this class is good. PARTICIPATION IS HUGE!

Baseball Statistics was the easiest class I have ever taken in my entire life. All you have to do is participate in class and you get an A. Just put in a little effort and you'll get the easiest A ever.

He is rather easy for homework because he never checks almost assignments for homework. He gives you the option to determine the weight percentage for tests, participation and the final. I did 50% tests, 25% participation and 25% final exam and got an A. You can use the book on tests and the final which makes this class not that hard.

His teaching style is based on the Moore method, and it is not for everyone, but he lets you know that the first day of class. He gives us all the information we need for each chapter in note form, then we go over problems in class. If no one can answer a question he does help and lead.
