I was in Lee's classes for 4 years, he was my advisor, etc. I was a ceramics major. I have never in my life met a professor who cares less for his students and more for his reputation. Lee does not demonstrate for classes above the intro level, futhermore, because of his careless advising I had to stay at Edinboro for an extra semester.

I learned so much about how to get outside of myself when creating. He taught us how to think about the viewer or the user and how to be creative. He also taught technique well, and his expectations were clear. He is there to help you, but expects you to do your part first. I had to work very hard to succeed, but it was totally worth it.

He's a great teacher, but he wants ceramics to e your main priority even if it's not your major. If you are ceramics then he's perfect, bc he'll push you hard. But if you like to focus all your time of your major, then his class will be a challenge.

I meet alot of our youth we call college students, most of which are living of thier parents money procrastinatining thier introduction to reality. If your going to take on the humble carrer as a potter youd better make alot of pots with a work ethic that borders on fanaticism. Professor Rexrode has touched a few people on a very profound level.

Ummmm...What potter likes blue cups anyway? I mean do you blame the man! Maybe ask him why. There is VERY good reason. Great guy. He WILL help you if you ask. Oh and yes he has an ego but he made a name for himself in clay.

He is insanely pompous and arrogant, yet i learned a lot in his class. He assigns a ridiculous amount of pots. 8-50, and you have a week to do them. he has unrealistic visions of how people should do in his class. he believes that you should be in the ceramics studio EVERY day for at least 3 hours. like people don't have other classes?

Lee's a good professor, he'll teach you how to do things and is very knowledgable about anything to do with pottery. But the man is crazy sometimes, like he hates blue cups, and he almost wants to do your sculpture for you. He gets too serious at times and is overly stressed. A great guy, my advisor too, take him if you want to learn something.
