Was a very cool professor. Quizzes are 5 pictures. You write a description about it. Must pay attention and take good notes during lectures in order to pass. Listening is key because he doesn't really write anything down so you have to write what you hear. Attendance mandatory only because the quizzes are based on pictures shown during lecture.

Really cool guy. His stories are always amusing and class is overall interesting. The only problem is that the class can drag at times but I would still recommend him.

MUST TAKE. You won't go through the course without hearing the phrase "Hiphip hurray, let's PARTY" I guarantee it. You need to go to class everyday b/c the quizzes are all pictures that are shown in lectures, and make sure to pay attention! He sometimes goes off topic but his stories are enjoyable. A middle-schooler could NOT take this course haha

Same guidelines as other posters have said (quizzes with 5 slides). Just because people say it's an easy class DON'T take it lightly and skip class. Pay attention and go to class and you should get an A. Altogether good entertaining professor with inappropriate humor at times.

The funnest class I took for my first semester. The info was interesting and Siegel is pretty funny. The course is extremely easy if you go to class. He talks about the stories associated with a religion along with a powerpoint of slides. For the test, he'll choose 5 of the slides and you have to write a couple of sentences about them. Easy Peasy.

He is the easiest teacher at UHM. He changed his course this year to make it easier for students. We had 5 quizzes, all with 5 pictures of what he talked about and you simply explain what they are! (Middle schoolers could do this) His dirty jokes are pretty funny too. Take him for sure!

Horrible speaker, so sit close. Just attend class and pay attention and you'll ACE it! You DONT even have to be smart, he probably could teach middle school kids if his humor wasn't so inappropriate. The hard part: his lectures always have a lot of rambling causing you to drift from paying attention. Also, point system is small so watch out

No textbook needed. He talks about three different religions for each part of the semester (2 parts). 2 exams (mid/final) non cumulative, short answer. Prior to the exam he goes over what will be on it. Attend all classes because he does not review terms or concepts in depth.

He does off a textbook "Religions of the World" as a reference for his class, otherwise it is a lecture. You must attend, take copious notes, ask question, and show interest in his class. I re-wrote my notes into a definition format as a study guide prior to the exams, and aced both tests. He is an excellent professor and reccomend his class.

Cool dude, but his class is challenging. He talks about himself and Judaism a lot. No textbook, so it makes things a bit more difficult. To be frank, I don't think I knew anyone who got an A in his class. Interesting class though, but my friends recommend taking the other guy instead.

I think I learned more about him than I learned about religion, but that's alright. I failed the first exam because I didn't understand what was going to be on it, but aced the next one to bring my average to a B. He doesn't have a textbook, but I borrowed one from a friend who had a different professor and that helped to study.

Lee is an extremely entertaining professor who is very knowledgable in his field. Go to class everyday, it helps greatly with exams and he always makes you laugh. Exams ARE HARD, but if you study and go to class you should be fine. Generous curve.

Easy class IF you show up and take notes (but attendance isn't mandatory). He just talks and tells stories all class, puts up some picture slides, you take notes on them, and then on the exams (2, both short answer) you just repeat what he's talked about. Class can be entertaining but can often go off topic. Overall, easy if you take notes.

Amazing professor. I highly recommend him to anyone even mildly interested in religion. He is very funny and very knowledgable. He gives two tests (essentially just vocal), and both are easy if you study for them and come to class to hear his stories and definitions of certain words. My only complaint is that he isn't very nice one-on-one.

Tests are all free response questions and require a lot of comprehension. Go to quizlet.com and search esther_yi. I made some notecards for the final i had to take this past semester. Its all the terms we had to know. His midterms/finals are all non cumulative.VERY funny. His curve for our midterm was ridiculous everyone clapped when he announced it.

Don't need any textbooks. ATTEND EVERY CLASS! Don't decide that you can skip class because his tests are all comprehension, not multiple choice. You really have to study and know your stuff. Go to class the day before exam day to get what is on the exam. All in all, ok class but its your responsibility to get the grade you want and #1 thing: STUDY!
