She is very rude, her lectures are fine, I just wish she wasn't the teacher. I hate her.

OMG DO NOT TAKE HER! SHE IS THE WORST! she's overbearing and tries too hard to be funny. Its either her way or the highway, she always does this with papers. if she doesn't agree with you, there goes your grade. for someone who claims to allow students to express themselves, she's a blockade and only sees her way. NEVER AGAIN!

Great and engaging class! There are a TON of papers, but Dr. S is more than happy to help you revise and perfect them beforehand. She is a tough grader, but she focuses on improving your writing skills, and is really helpful with advice and mentoring. No busy work associated with class, and she cares about students. Be sure to participate!

Lots of papers; around 35 pages total for the entire semester. Lots of reading as well for the lectures. That being said, the lectures are amazing and very interesting/ engaging. I sometimes even forget that this is a history class (which is good in my mind). I used to really dislike history classes before this class but she definitely teaches well

One of the best professors I've ever had. I hated discussion-based classes until I took this one; Dr. Simpson truly believes in the intelligence and potential of each of her students, pushing them to explore their ideas to become better critical thinkers. Can help you transform your writing and develop your voice if you put in the work.

She's very boring so are her lectures. Her attitude gets kind of annoying as she tries too hard to be funny. Sure, she's knowledgable, but lacks she's not my favorite professor, I had better.

I have not met a professor like Dr. Simpson in a very long time. She wants her students to be great writers and will bend over backwards to make that happen. If you work hard, you will reap the benefits! My writing did a complete 180 after taking this course. She prepares you for your future, be ready!

She is one of the best. It is not an easy class and you will have to read and write a lot to earn an A. She is very helpful during office hours and is really nice/funny but will not go easy on you.

Dr. Simpson is fantastic! She is enthusiastic about teaching. This class is not easy, but you get a lot of rewarding feedback. I write at a graduate student level because of her feedback. Be sure to read each book and be ready to participate. Critical thinking is of utmost importance in her class.

While the class was stimulating, the teacher was not much support or understanding for second language students who don't have English as first language. However, I did end class with a B all for lack of English not for superior math skills in engineering.

She's one of the most helpful professors ever. Pay attention in class because it'll help on the midterm & final papers. For the exams, there's an in class short answer & a take home 4-6 page paper. For class assignments, 4 short answer papers to write & extra credit. Do the extra credit, it'll help your grade. Try to go to her office hours!

She was a great professor! her lectures were very interesting, always had my attention. She talked WITH us, not AT us. She is very clear on what we should study and take notes on, offered some extra credit to help your grade. This class wasnt easy but it wasnt hard either, Overall, I would definatly take another one of her classes.

Most challenging Professor I've had. Requires work but its well worth it. Learned a lot. Polished my writing, critical thinking and public speaking skills. Class lectures are designed to courage exchange of viewpoints and clarify the readings. Hard class but worth all the hard work. Very intellectually rewarding. Highly recommended!

She is so Nit-Picky! You're papers are butchered after you show it to her. If she disagrees with something you wrote even after providing proof, she'll dock you down - it was ridiculous. Class discussions were ok (and overrated), usually dominated by one or two people. Grade based on 3 essays, 1 final (much longer) essay, and participation. Urg...
