High energy, enthusiastic, interactive, and definitely a LOT of work, but she's more than available for help after hours or through email. She can be a little flighty, but she's super flexible and very nice. Don't expect an A (you have to do something truly exceptional for it) but if you work hard, definitely a solid B you can feel proud of.

AMAZING. I love Dr. Talley!!!! Children's Lit was my favorite by far of the semester. Schedules extra office hours before assignments are due to provide extra help. She is wonderfully intelligent and makes class fun! TAKE HER! You will not regret it!!! :D

Absolutely ridiculous. She assigns 400 pages of reading and an essay or midterm studying for one class period. she assigns a 300 page novel and then the night before 9amclass emails us and tells us we no longer need to read it. Unclear on essay expectations. Went to her for help and wrote the exact words she told me to and then she gave me a 71.

So Talley is a very nice lady and a knowledgeable prof, but she is extremely scatterbrained and can be unclear at times. She failed to meet with me on several occasions, and when I did finally meet with her, her feedback on papers proved useless - nothing pleases this lady. I did well her class, but if you are not a strong writer, beware.

This is where you go if you want to have epic fun with literature. Take her 400-level class; Victorian lit is her area of study, and she sure loves talking about it! She'll make you like it too. Hard, but fun.

I had her for her Bronte Seminar, she is extremely knowlegable and you do learn a lot. However, she is extremely unfair when it comes to grading her papers and when you go to her office, she basically tells you how much your paper stinks and does not help you to get a better grade. If you love the topic of feminism take her, if not dont!

lit stud I had her for She is extremely hard. She lets you rewrite a paper, and I did and I fixed everything that she said and more and had people read it and correct it and she gave it back to me with the same grade, I went to office hours and she was no help. If you are all about literature then take her but if you aren't I would stay away.

Dr. Talley is awesome! She's probably my favorite professor - I had her for Lit. Studies. She has so much energy and you can tell she loves what she does. It's not an easy A, but it's certainly a fun one. I'd definitely take another of her classes. If you have the option, pick her! You won't regret it.

Dr Talley is my one of my favorite prof's ever. She is so enthusiastic and it really rubs off. It's not an easy A, but it's worth it if you like to read. She lets you turn in your essays early and she makes comments etc and then lets you redo it. So if you try at all you will do well. But she is great!!

She's really funny and pretty crazy if she has her coffee but was definitely my favorite teacher this semester. She is a hard grader for tests but pretty easy for essays and such. Talk a lot in the class and she'll be more open to you. and look up random facts of literature because she adores that. really great class and experience

Took Talley for Lit Studies. She's a very excitable person who loves her job. She teaches in a fun style and gives plenty of examples. Reading and participation is required, but if you're willing to work hard you'll love the class and this prof.

I am a current HS English teacher shortly assuming an administrative role. I am writing this with the benefit of experience. Dr. T was the WORST professor that I had during my time at Rowan. She nitpicked in grading, was nasty at points, and was over most people's heads with course content. The department made a serious mistake hiring her. AVOID!

If you are planning on getting an easy A, don't take this professor. She is an extremely passionate professor who, if you have shown integrity during the class, will always be willing to help. Just be willing to try/work hard. One of the best teachers I've had.
