Awesome professor! She was well mannered, good humored, and taught us a lot of communication techniques. She answers questions and lets us bounce ideas off of eachother to learn things for our own. When taking class at campus, we never opened our book, which I personally enjoyed! She knows her stuff

By far the worst professor I have had since going to FSCJ. Her instructions are vague and the expectations are high. She doesn't even provide feedback on your speech so that you know what to work on. Did not even submit the grades on time and I got a NR. I had to talk to the dean about my grades. Does not reply to email. Don't take her class.

This was by far the WORST class ever the Professor graded entirely too hard and too much work. She did not give a CRAP if you pass her class or not. Would not recommend her at all.

Great professor with a huge passion for her field. She is helpful, understanding and very approachable. Content is ok and speeches are fun. She tends to be a bit winded and looses focus at times, but thats what communication is all about. Really enjoyed this class.

Professor Strain is a wonderful teacher and knows her stuff. I learned so much in this class. There was online trouble at beginning, but she used her personal email when she had to. The book was easy to use and mine came with the access card. Students who did not have the online access rented the book or did not buy the REQUIRED book.

The organization and grading of the class was terrrible. She required that we buy an online program which was NOT said to be required in the syllabus. She also made numerous grading errors-she didn't even follow her own rubric. Despite her knowledge and friendliness, I would NOT reccomend her!

She is a great teacher who cares about her students and learning. The course is challenging, but I learned things that I have carried in other areas of school and work. I am more confident about my abilities. People who have said negative thigs probably didn't do what they were supposed to do. She is a professional who does not let you slide by.

She involves the students, and her expectations for a passing grade are clear - follow them and you pass. One of my best classes yet...had fun even though I got a B but it was my fault...so AND I hated being taped but I learned from it... She was great and was fair about grading your speeches... so...she's excellent if you want to broaden your public speaking skills.

Wow, this prof. was excellent! The class was easy to me because I'm a natural with public speaking. However, if you aren't, she works with you 100% to make you better and help. She practically spells out for you how to do the assignments! This class is time consuming-you must try to do your best!

Her guidelines for the speeches were laid out so easily It was kind of like fill in the blank. Her 8 week courses are better, she is a very understanding teacher if you TALK to her ahead of time about any difficulties you are having.
