Study and you will pass his class. Took him for American national government. He is beyond lenient with the students that donâ??t show up and donâ??t study for tests. He misses a lot of classes. People donâ??t like his lectures. But itâ??s an easy class to pass.

In general, just a washed-out professor. He's very old and still shows VHS films. He will talk about what ever is on his mind during class his "lectures" are quite useless for his exams. He does not involve the class at all he just rants. He is just painfully boring and always mumbles. Im passing his class with a B but still hate every minute.

Prof Shields is a very intelligent man. He's very old school--don't show up late. A lot of the class time is spent talking about current economic events, so plan on doing a lot of studying on your own. He does give you a study guide for the beginning of each segment though, so if you pace yourself you'll be all set. Kind of a tough grader.

If you are a serious student and want to learn somthing, take his class. He is by far the best professor ive ever had. Old, yes, but brilliant Harvard Educated the man knows his stuff. For those who said he's old hard to follow and that they didnt learn anything they obviously weren't listening weren't there or were asleep the guy knows his stuff.

He hasn;t updated his handouts, tests, etc since the days of typewriting. You can barely read any of the writing. His tests are hard, but you need to study outside of the classroom seeing as he doesn't teach you anything. Be prepared to watch movies from the 1980's some consist of black and white. He needs to retire instead of work part time.

ZZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!! BORING! Just memorize what he tells you to learn (yeah, that means you have to actually spend the time doing this). Learn how to do supply/demand charts (these are very easy). Memorize material and you will do fine.

He was alright. The only thing I had a problem with was how he graded on test. If you got an answer wrong he would mark that ONE answer off 8 points or what ever he felt at the time. He's extremely boring. Grades only from tests. Key to class is to memorize material.

Don't know how the school hasn't forced him to retire. Class consisted of one take home midterm that was about 5 questions. Were supposed to have a final - but didn't want to grade them. One short, take home test all semester. What a joke. Mumbles quietly and shows movies older than students. Learned close to nothing. Waste.

Great teacher. The tests consisted of definitions, supply and demand charts, and questions from a movie. I learned a lot, and I enjoyed his rants. The final was very difficult, but if you prepared, you should be ready.

AWFUL!!! Doesn't go over material on test until about 2 or 3 days early and doesn't go over the book, he just expects you to read it and understand it all. He loves to show boring 3 hour movies where you are required to take about 5 pages of notes. His tests suck and are each on like 4-5 chapters. He only allows you to miss 3 classes, not 5. HE SUX

His lectures are quite dry, but loaded with valuable information. The tests seem to come mostly from the book, so if his lectures bore you, you can tune them out. If the test has any info not in the book, he'll let you know. Not the best professor, but not the worst. Just pay attention!
