Class is easy, but beyond boring. If you lose focus easily, don't take this class b/c you'll never pay attention. Professor talks in circles, and simply lectures the entire class. 3 or 4 essays, and only a couple of tests.

I really enjoyed Dr. Gatlin's class this past semester. He's very helpful, will give suggestions on papers if you need them. Class meetings are incredibly short and you don't have to do much work for them. It was a really easy A, but I still learned a lot.

Dr. Gatlin is very boring. He gives two tests and assigns three papers. He does not grade harshly, but he does not give a lot of feedback when he grades.

Only take this class for an easy grade. He is boring and monotonous and not challenging whatsoever. Only keeps for an hour. 4 papers and a midterm. Easy easy easy but boring boring boring.

Gatlin is one of the nicest teachers in the English department. This class isn't hard at all (just 5 short papers) and he only meets for 1 hour. Take him if you can; he'll help you with any questions and he even gives you ideas for your papers. If I could, I would take him for all of my English classes.

Professor Gatlin may not be the most interesting professor on campus, but he's actually quite funny and a really nice guy. If you enjoy Victorian poetry and classic short stories, take this class. The 5 papers he assigns are not difficult to make an A on. He has a lot of information to give so be prepared to listen more so than discuss.

Professor Gatlin is not the most interesting teacher, but its a great class. 3 hours long, but he only keeps you 1 hour. He grades easy, and you can tell he really cares about the subject.

Very nice man. 3 hour class, keeps you maybe an hour. Helpful but you must ask for it. No exams, 5 short papers. Not the most exciting class but easy. Better than the other teachers I've read about who teach this class (except Hutchinson).

He is a very nice man and willing to help. Class is a bit dull but he seems like an easy A. Better an easy A in a dull class than a C in an exciting class. I'd say if you have to take 2100 this is the teacher to get. Class never meets for much more than an hour, and it's supposed to meet for 3 hours.

If you have to take eng2100 this is the prof. to get. A 3hr class- keeps you 1 hour. Very willing to help but gives very few guidelines which can hurt grade. Class is kind of dull but I can handle dull if I get a good grade. Better than an exciting prof. who gives a C. Nice man who respects others opinions. I'll update this post at end of semester.

Nice man. Class is kind of dull if people don't participate. Don't blame the teacher, blame the students. Mr. Gatlin has a wealth of information to share and is willing to go the extra mile for anyone who needs the help. All you have to do is ask. Not a hard class as long as you do the papers...no tests. Again...very nice man. You will like him!

Dr. Gatlin is a well read and articulate person, but I think that he has become quite bored with teaching. I think he should retire or move on. More class discussions need to be encouraged instead of him just rambling on in a flat voice for 2 hours about Victorian poetry. Students WANT to become engaged in the work instead of simply having it di

The best professor at UNCC. Extremely well read, and has infinite knowledge of Victorian Literature. If you are interested in learning, take him. He also is a great guy, appreciates good music and art, and has a super sense of humor. Try to get to know him, you'll see :)

Let me tell y'all something. I thought this guy was a real bore until I took the time to talk to him after class. He is very personable, intelligent and quite humorous. A little work and participation and you will do well. I promise.
