Think he's taken some evaluations to correct his class. Really it's a lot of lectures and group project work. The tests aren't terrible and the homework is easy + helpful. If you can stand class-long lectures and don't mind participating this isn't a class. He's slightly better than what the ranking says.

The class itself shouldn't be difficult, it's him that makes it that way. He doesn't teach in terms of the test let alone the class, he just mindlessly rambles in lectures. Reading the textbooks doesn't help either. Projects are extremely unclear, descriptions filled with typos. He will give you no help in office hours tests of HW either. AVOID!

Comment:

Only semester that I didn't make Dean's list or President's list was when I took Rosenthal's class. got less than a 3.0 but put in so much time. Tests are extremely difficult to study for because he doesn't follow the book and his lectures are difficult to follow. He also is a hard grader when it comes to the course project. Would not recommend.

Is not clear about anything. Extremely disorganized. Does not use the book. Sucks at teaching. You need 100mg of addy to sit through his class and maintain focus. His finance exams are known to be harder than any other exams in the same course. Nothing personal, he is a nice guy. He's just completely unqualified to teach.

This has got to be the most generous 1.9 rating in the history of 1.9 ratings. Absolutely abysmal professor. He is pretty much everything that is wrong with tenuring professors. I would say the only not horrible aspect of his class is the fact that he looks like Larry David which is obviously kinda hilarious.

Rosenthal is tenured and therefore cannot be fired. He is the reason that all the FI 320 sections do not have professors assigned to the sections during registration. Just pray you don't end up in his class. Bentley needs to stop handing out tenures to professors like Rosenthal.

Put it to you this way: I'd rather spend my time stabbing myself with a rusty spoon. Tests were impossible, and I paid attention and took meticulous notes. Homework component is easy, he just checks them off, no numeric grading. Lectures are boring, people fall asleep even in a day, 2:10 class. Avoid him like the plague.
