Great professor who has 6 well deserved degrees, a tough grader, and a great teacher of English grammar. You will become a great writer in his class and learn all the rules you did not learn or forgotten in elementary/grammar school. He is funny, interesting, and can lead fun philosophical discussions in class.

Taking this class with Professor Hansen was very stressful and pressure heavy. Papers are extremely short, about a page long, BUT he grades based on grammar. Three pronoun reference mistakes is an automatic C on the paper. Professor Hansen, however, has challenged and taught me so many things that I never knew or even imagined of. Great Professor.

I strongly recommend Professor Hansen. If you have trouble with writing, he will make you a better writer. He stresses the importance of having good grammar. He may seem scary at first, but he is a nice guy.

Professor Hansen is probably the best English teacher out there. That being said his class is not easy, he Goes hard on grammar but in the end youll thank him for making you write so much better. Hes a cool and funny guy too. Dont get thrown off by your first encounter he turns out to be really cool.

He's a great professor overall. He knows what he's doing and knows how to teach the material in a way everyone understands. He teaches heavily on grammar as well, but overall you will definitely learning how to write better than you did before.

Dr. Lesley Hansen is one best professor, mentor I ever had. If you are trying to better your writing skill then you should take his class. If you would like to succeed his class, please do your homework on time, then go to the writing center to correct your mistake. Make sure you go to his office hours after completing every assignment.

Dr. Hansen is the best English teacher I've taken. He grades fairly, but you must attend. Interesting lectures and essay topic for the semester. Seven papers, mostly 1-2 pages, with a 4-5 page research essay. Like his philosophy on essay length: "I don't need to read 15 pages to know how well you write." Great class, highly recommended.

"Way of the Peaceful Warrior," is the book that will be mainly used during the course. Amazing, funny, yet tough teacher. He will be reading essays out loud and pointing out all the mistakes. Don't take his comments personal he does it to everyone. Not too many essays, but he grades them very harshly. Not an easy class but you will learn A LOT.

BEST TEACHER EVER! He lets you revise your essay again and again, so you can pass. You have to work on your grammar and essays to get an A. He is very inspirational and a funny teacher. I will definitely miss this class and Prof. Hansen! His lectures will change the way you write!! Take his class and you will not regret it!

Hurting your feelings and making you cry will make you want to drop his class, but don't drop. If you feel all that I previously described, then that means he's working. He gives life lessons, and makes you hate the fact that you were taught how to write in a terrible way. You will walk in as a young boy/girl but leave a woman/man.

If you're looking to actually learn something Professor Hansen is the way to go. Not only is he HILARIOUS but knows his stuff. Now, if you're looking for an easy A turn away , he's a tough grader and would make you work for your grade. Your grade is mostly based on how well your papers are written grammatically.

Best English teacher I've ever had. Super funny and morbid at times. You will learn a lot of grammar in the class. I can say I am a better writer because of Dr. Hansen. If you do a rough draft and talk to him about the paper, you will have a better idea of what to fix for your final paper to turn in. Ask if you have questions and you'll be fine.

Never take him! He's such a mean individual and is not understanding of anything. He loves to call people out on their mistakes instead of in private. He has no respect for his students! Instead of teaching the class he talks about killing cows and motorcycles gangs.

TAKE HANSEN'S CLASS. I have never really struggled with writing, but he has taught me so so much. His class is so fun, and the papers are short, but everything in them counts. It gets a bit tedious (you grade your own papers), but it is SO worth it. One of my favorite classes.

If you're looking for something more than an A: for a teacher, a jokester, an amazing story teller, and a "SNOOT," (DFW insider), take him. Even if he had given me an F, the class still would have been worth taking. He will make you "Crawl through every sentence you write," but he will also make you laugh, cry a bit, and become a grammar Nazi.

Professor Hansen is THE best English professor I've ever had. I sucked at writing before I took his class and now I am a better writer. Be prepared to learn about grammar, fanboys and comma rules. If you want to become a better writer, take his class. He is beyond hilarious and makes his class interesting. Be prepared to write!
