She is very intelligent but also very personal. She takes time to understand who you are and where you are coming from. I took great books with her and Dr. Lloyd and was given lots of room for creative interpretations of the books that we read. In that particular class there were a lot of essays, but very do-able, and she was great to learn from.

Dr. Heaphy is the best professor I've had so far. Not your typical history professor who just reads slides and makes you take notes. Engages you in conversation and discussions that really make you think about history in a way you never have. Very personable and helpful beyond belief. No exams, but papers make up for that. Awesome lady.

By far the best professor at the Stark campus! Certainly one of the best history professors in the entire Kent State system!! She is extremely knowledgeable and helpful to all students. Her passion for history is evident right from the start. She makes history fun!! Everyone should take Dr. Heaphy!!!

Awesome Prof and thrives on history which makes her class enjoyable. She will tell you what she is picking from to be on the exam and on the exam you get to pick which ones you want to do. So studying is a breeze. They are all in essay form. Who, what, when and where. All around wonderful person. Best history prof at Stark!

Best professor Ive ever had! She is so passionate about history and it makes the class enjoyable. Her tests are essay, but she gives you ALL the questions on a study guide and on the test you pick the ones you want to write about. I wish all my teachers did this! DEFINITELY take a class with her if you get a chance :)

I've taken Heaphy for the majority of all of my history classes. Great professor who takes the time to make sure her students understand all the material. She's also the Honors coordinator for the Stark Campus. Honestly could not ask for a better person to be in charge. She's a huge help year around, and is lighting fast reply to emails!

Amazing professor. Helps you with anything you need. Wealth of information. Endless knowledge. Will give you the benefit of the doubt and several second chances. Lets you turn things in late. Very helpful even in things not related to class. You wont regret taking classes with her!

Great Professor! I highly suggest taking a class with her. Very intelligent and very easy grader. She makes class lectures interesting and she is there if you need help with anything. Exams are essay but very easy if you study and know the content. A few 2 page papers and books to ready, not hard at all. I really enjoyed being in her class.

Very helpful, intelligent professor! Expert at Asian and US Sports history. A good deal of writing involved in her classes, but grading is very fair. Expect take home essay exams for her upper division classes, but they are not too overwhelming. Excellent professor overall!
