Great professor. He is very knowledgeable about the subject he teaches and really looks at many sides of issues with an open perspective. He does require reading, but most of the material is very enjoyable. I would highly recommend taking a class from him.

Dr. Thomas was one of the best professors I've ever had. His lectures made the class fun and you truly learn a lot from him. Just three exams in the class, weekly write ups and make sure you use his study guides and you'll do fine on the exams. Will definitely miss this class and his funny lectures, highly recommend this class for objective 6.

Talked about the schedule for the first 15 minutes of class every day. Lots of discussing student answers on the homework assignments, lots of reading and homework every week. NEVER PUT GRADES IN MOODLE!! Had to email more than once to even get a reply. Class was pretty boring, sometimes helpful for book projects.

This class required an extensive amount of reading with weekly quizzes. He is pretty straight forward about what he expects and what is on the exams. You can tell he enjoys his job but he tends to mumble a lot. He provides a lot of helpful materials and cracks jokes in class. If you're going to take an anthropology class, take one from him.

I took his intro class last Spring and had a blast. He truly enjoys the subject, and is willing to discuss it in depth. He cares about his students, and is willing to put the effort in to helping when he can. Can be slow to respond to emails though. I'm taking another class of his, if that says anything at all. 10/10 would recommend.

This class really changed my perspective. Overall the class was simple, but there was a lot of reading and papers involved. Some people say that you don't have to do the reading, but I advise you to at least skim. My only complaints were that he was a bit disorganized and so,e of his lectures were a little repetitive. Great class!

Very awesome and very in tune with his career. He understands concepts and loves explaining them. He can definitely go on and on about certain topics, but most of the topics are interesting so most students dont mind too much. All in all, hes how a professor should be.

Lewis was my very first college instructor. To put this simply, if I didn't have two kids and a wife, I would have changed my major to anthropology without a second thought. He opened up in me a passion for anthropology that would never have been revealed otherwise. Take his course!

This is a class about SE Asia. We do cover all of the country but none of them compare to Burma. Everything goes back to Burma. He is a little obsessed with Burma. It's understandable because that is where he focuses his studies but it's excessive at times. He is an easy going professor. He provides excellent reviews. No assignments are too hard.

He is one of the few professors I've actually liked. He knows what he's talking about because he's actually been to SEA and he has first hand experience. Be prepared to read a lot, and don't fall behind though because the tests are all on readings. He offers a lot of extra credit thankfully. Also you watch a few movies/clips!

Good teacher learned a lot of information. Its cool he has actually been to some of the places he is teaching us about. Usually don't have to be their Fridays. Just do the reading and pay attention in class and you will do well. He also gives lots of extra credit.

The books that we read for the class are very interesting and if you get your reading done, you will pass with flying colors.

Professor Lewis is my favorite by teacher. I took Anthropology of Southeast Asia under him, and it was my favorite class. Professor Lewis' stories are fascinating. He's an anthropologist who spends a lot of time in Burma/Myanmar. His first-person stories are amazing. I've learned so much under him that I have applied to real life conversations.
