Comment:
Her tests were fair, but I found that the semester was broken down into many tiny projects. Also, her lecture slides were from the textbook, not actually her design. And if I'm being frank, her lectures were not the most exciting thing in the world. However, she communicates clearly.

Dr. Ambrose is one of the best profs I have had at Laurentian. She expects her students to do their work, and if very clear about what she wants in assignments, etc. She likes to read good writing, so beware if writing is not your strong suit.

I found her lectures fairly interesting and she is a smart lady who is willing to help but is very arrogant. Her marking is horrible and does not make any sense at times as well as her reviews for tests/exams are the worst I have ever seen, she also plays favourites in the class. I will be avoiding her like the plague in the upcoming years.

Very tough marker. Starts the paper off with a grade of 100 and deducts marks for each mistake made throughout (even bibliography and footnotes). Classes are somewhat interesting for tends to babble on quite often. Knows what she wants and isn't very flexible with others opinions.

Very arrogant which creates a very unpleasant learning environment. Therefore you lose interest in her class.

Avoid her class she will make you review other students essays not just one but 5 a week. Total of 75 pages to read in one week plus complete your own essay all in one month very unrealistic policy.

Linda is one of the best profs I have ever had at LU. She is clear about what she wants, and will mark you strictly but is incredibly fair. Her lectures were very interesting and she is a very engaging speaker. If you can't think of an essay topic she will basically hand a really good one to you and give you several sources. Top notch prof!

She seems to be partial to having favourites and she acts very distainfully toward others students. I always got the impression she barely tolerated my presence in her classroom. I got no warmth from her whatsoever. I know she's there to teach not to be your friend but it doesn't hurt to be nice.

Dr. Ambrose is a nice professor and those who complain about her feminist approach are rather short-sighted. Though she does play favourites from time to time, she is more than willing to help and is not condescending in any way. Her lectures are concise and clear.

Although Ambrose is a well spoken prof and many ppl like her...I know of ppl who do not. It seems she picks favorites and these are those who succeed in her classes. She doesn't show much respect for struggling students.

Very informative and practical class, her lectures were clear and helpful, and the computer labs were excellent. Could use some better management of key library resources, like reserves for Sudbury Star Index.

Linda Ambrose is by far the smartest woman I have ever encountered. She pushes you hard but the results are super. and to the guy who said shes a feminist so dont take her class: don't listen to him, he was prolly just really dumb

I thought the assignments to be a waste of time. If she intends to test a grade 9 level, perhaps they may be beneficial. However, in reality, they are too simplistic and anal. If you like looking up newspapers just to say you can. This class is for you. If this annoys you...stay away!

Linda is a fantastic teacher. Her lectures are never boring, and extremely thought provoking. The ideas and concepts you learn and examine in her class, help you become a more critical thinker in all other disciplines. She is extremely assertive, yet never arrogant (A nice change) two thumbs way up!

I really loved Ambrose's class. As a Women's Studies/English major, I was a bit intimidated by this class at first, but it was worthwhile.
