Super nice and fun professor. Very easy class to zone out in so make sure you take notes. I took the hybrid class, occasional homework and exams were take home. Can be a confusing topic to follow but Duchin is a great professor

You will think she is the end all be all, fight for your answers! Fight for the grade you earned, not what you wanted because that wont happen, but if her answer was wrong on a test, challenge it! And when you're done with her class, walk away and never look back!

Great professor. Cracks hilarious jokes and is very passionate about the subject she teaches. Must attend class to be prepared for quizzes and tests. Textbook is also used on take home exams and pop quizzes. Easy to talk to and willing to answer questions. Make sure to pay attention in class and write down everything she writes on the board!

As a person Linda is very nice and her lectures aren't bad; however, she's probably one of the worst graders I've ever encountered. Plagiarism is her favorite word, even if it is written in your own words. Shes very very picky and hard to please. I'm generally an A/B student, but nothing I write is good enough.

Despite the exams being difficult (loads of what felt like trick questions), and tough grading (I didn't know what I needed to do to get anything more than a B) I quite liked this class. If you are VERY interested in this subject than I would suggest the class. Just be warned their is a reason why the exams are take home, because they are hard.

She doesn't keep grades posted on Canvas, and required you to track them yourself, which isn't such a big deal, but isn't exactly a nice thing.

Lectures are every day, make sure to take notes. Watch out for the pop quizzes, you can't turn them in late and there are limited extra credit opportunities. Overall, nice teacher, fun sense of humor, and makes the topic pretty interesting.

She comes across as very strict, but was actually a really cool teacher. Beware of online pop quizzes though, they'll kill your grade if you miss them. Good sense of humor, expects you to follow rules outlined in syllabus. Stay off your phone. Would take again.

Good lectures and passionate about Anthropology. The class is actually very easy. The only problem I had were the pop quizzes. The quizzes are easy but you don't get any notification for it, you'll have to look at the modules daily to check if one shows up. The quizzes and exams are the only graded things so be sure not to miss one. Take home exams

You will hear a lot that this is a tough class, yet Ms. Duchin is a great teacher. she tells you all you need to know for your tests in your lectures (like any good teacher should). The tests are take home, she is really passionate about her study and this class will open your eyes more than you could ever imagine.

Refused to work with me when I had to miss a class. Has been rude to me since. Makes me not want to go to the class. Attendance isn't graded though. If you have a hard time memorizing and learning on your own, go to class. I was interested in the class at first, but after that encounter, not much interest.

Dr. Duchin is a phenomenal teacher. She is like an anthropology text book with legs; incredibly intelligent with experience. Everyone who says she's "rude" or a harsh grader" needs to get over themselves. This is COLLEGE, you should HOPE you have teachers who hold you to the highest of expectations. Read, DO NOT MISS CLASSES, and act your age!

I ended up with a B in the class, but it was well earned. I loved this class and the lectures were so amazing and she made them very interesting. Anyone who says that Dr. Duchin is too harsh, its college. She expects you to act like an adult and be respectful to other students, not walking in late or texting your friends. Show up, do the readings.

Dr. Duchin is an amazing professor. She is very passionate and knowledgeable about the topic and makes learning the subject very fun. I was actually disappointed when the lectures were over, and couldn't wait until the next class to learn more. Take really good notes in class and you will have no problem in this class and learn SO much!

Dr. Duchin is a phenomenal instructor. She is very fair in grading. There is a lot to learn, but she makes it easy. The lab quizzes and final are fun. I have taken Dr. Duchin for two courses and I would take her for more. She is just a kind, great down to earth individual, and is extremely passionate about teaching and Anthropology.
