for non-majors, it's pretty ridiculous at the amount of work one has to do. information is never clear what's going to be on the test because she rambles on in class and expects you to take notes on everything she says...which leaves you confused on what's actually on the test. her office hours are helpful, but don't take if seeking an easy A

One of the most difficult professors I've ever had. Lab classes are crammed to the point of almost being ridiculous, and all tests are very difficult. That being said, reading quizes are easy points and she is very thorough and will explain things for you if necessary.

I cannot stand this teacher. Of all the Bio classes I have taken at Xavier, none have stressed me out more than this. Even Ochem and upper level bio classes were easier than this. She is awful. She doesnt teach well, she is a really odd person, and she is more than happy to say mean comments to you and be inconsiderate.

Dr. Finke is a very straightforward professor. All you have to do is make sure you study her material and tests are quite simple. I recommend her to non-majors because she makes the material clear.

Dr. Finke is a great teacher and a really nice lady. That being said her classes SSSSUUUUUUCCCCKKKK! There is a ton of information, tests are extremely hard, even the multiple choice, especially for a 200 level course. She is helpful and prepares food for lab, which is much easier than the lecture. The lecture makes me want to shoot myself.

Possibly the worst teacher I have ever had. If you have a problem (personal or otherwise) do not expect sympathy from her. She is very rude and doesn't care about her students. As far as her teaching goes, she expects way too much and yet still treats you like you are 5 years old. The sad part is that Biology majors have to take her.

Finke is fabulous for lab - very helpful, very clear. tests aren't horrible but you really have to know your stuff. but in lecture...you will hate life. shows little respect to her students, is very disorganized, and refuses to help you catch up because she talks FAST. hard to believe this is the same lady! this is better than botany though...

dr finke is a cool gal. he rclasses are hard but if youre a science major, you should be studying anyways. i dont think botany was easier than bacti, if youre headed anywhere towards the health field, take bacti instead of botany or both.

Man does this lady love to test on minutiae or what?! I've never had to memorize so much useless information in my life. This class is easier than bacteriology though, so bio majors should take it instead.
