I've taken a number of math classes at CSM and Mrs. Phipps was my favorite teacher. Great sense of humor. I really learned a lot from her and most of all I learned that I'm not a loser when it comes to math!

Took Mrs.Phipps class back in 2008. Very helpful and caring professor. She likes clean and organized answers. Highly recommended. Come to class, do your HW and take notes. Then you should do fine.

Great teacher! I transferred to Berkeley and after I had Mrs. Phipps for 120,130, 222,251,252,253 and 270,I aced any class that required Math. Go to class,do your homework,ask for help if you need it. She's great if you aren't good at Math. Take her for any Math class. You'll be so glad you did. Ignore the bad reviews. They sound like sour grapes.

Can't believe the bad review I just read about Mrs. Phipps and neither should you. Just retook Calc I with her after getting an F from another teacher and I did really well. She's a terrific teacher, has a great personality, loves teaching. Students were very disappointed she wasn't able to teach Calc II this Spring. My favorite math teacher!!

I just had her for Calc 1 and I wouldn't recommend her to anyone. Her teaching style is old fashioned and she is extremely boring to listen to. Her quizes/tests are overly hard and she does not allow any type of calculator. She's extremely harsh on notation as well so be careful!

She's great. If your test scores are higher than your quiz scores, she will just drop the quizzes portion of your grade. If you have <6 absences she will also drop your lowest test score. Its easy not to pay attention. Halfway through the class I had a C and I was able to raise it to an A...Also learned alot. Awesome.

A nice lady and a good teacher, but not spectacular. Plan of teaching yourself most of the concepts. She is NOT very intuitive for what the students know and dont know. Classes are basically useless; she just regurgitates the book. Easy grader and a very nice, pleasant lady. Very old fashioned, but, I would recommend her to a friend.
