She is a tough grader. She shouldn't be your first pick for a speech professor. She grades extremely tough and doesn't give out many "A"s. Look down at your paper once while giving a speech and expect a lot of points off. Her extra credit is totally bogus. Extra Credit for dressing up and using a powerpoint adds up to only 1 point of extra credit.

God awful class taught by a horrible professor, assigns homework frequently that she does not teach you how to do. Very monotone and boring to listen to, will put you to sleep.

She is not a good teacher if the class was online nothing would have changed. She didn't teach us anything. She is a really really tough grader. She will not give you an A.

Average teacher, gives lots of homework but it's not necessarily needed to pass the class. Easily can pass if you do well on the papers and tests. Not bad just boring.

This woman may be a fine teacher, as I am not one to judge this since I despise literature, but she has absolutely no respect for her students. Instead of encouraging or helping students, she only focuses on the students who are truly interested in what she teaches and who are actually good at it. Not much of a teacher at all, in my mind.

Doctor Straubel is very knowledgeable in the field. Professor does not go out of her way to help students, much more focused on teaching. Does not often take responsibility for things that go wrong. Sometimes docks points unreasonably. Textbook recommended. Professor much more suited for higher level class. Class has midterms and finals.

"DR" Straubel is very opinionated and but overall a VERY nice teacher. She can be cocky but she has a doctorate so she has kinda earned it. Hard grader so make sure to prepare for your speeches a couple of times over and for the love of god DO NOT SAY UM!

Linda is great, sense of humor and likes to go off topic at times. Shes been assigning the same books for a long time. I went to see her once about an essay and she was rly helpful. The class was hard only because I didn't read some of the books all the way. The Class is WAY EASIER if you read and highlight.

You have to get a lot of extra reading material but can get by with using a friend's. She goes off topic and the class can be boring. You also should be in attendance each class session since she does take roll. I recommend her since she is very knowledgeable and will prepare you for future Humanities classes.

This is not a class that you can simply breeze through without many late night library sessions. You WILL have to write three essays and homework each night. There are three essays with one being a research paper. She allows two revisions so I suggest doing well on the second paper. Be in class. Dr. S goes by the syllabus also!

Much, much better than Barbara Abendschein. I found her class really easy. You will do a lot of writing work, including three essays, which includes a research paper. She's much easier going on essay grading. She's always willing to help whenever you don't understand something. Highly recommend her for COM 122.

Unbelievable...5 novels to read, countless nights staying up and trying to read these and complete homeworks. Do not take this class if your looking for an easy class! I thought this was going to talk about what the American dream was but it was just reading non stop. However, she is very passionate and interested in what she teaches.

Straubel is an amazing professor. You will learn a LOT in this class, but you will also do a lot of work. If you're looking for a HU class to get an easy A in and be lazy avoid her. 5 books, hours of homework every night. Unnecessary amount of work. Very tough grader on essays too. But her lectures are entertaining.

BEWARE! Unless you absolutely LOVE literature, do not take. Don't get me wrong she is an awesome professor and absolutely LOVES what she does. She just gives ALOT of work [essays, quizzes, books]. In a semester we read 5 books! and not short ones either!

Not the best professor at Riddle, but not the worst. She is really into her literature so don't come to class with an opinion, she will go to extensive lengths to prove you wrong. The workload tends to be overwhelming at times, but she gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities. If a little effort is put in to her class she will pass you.

She is quite opinionated which could present a problem if you find yourself on the opposite side of an issue. She is very fair with her grading and offers lots of extra credit opportunities. She will definitely hold you responsible for keeping track of the syllabus. I enjoyed her class. We only had to do 4 speeches. 2 long & 2 short. Good Professor

Absolutely 0 thought into her class. As said, she is very bias against students. If you disagree with her, watch out. Feels that she is the best person ever. Also, as no regard for anything that others might consider in literature. Overall this class was a dread to attend and just wish that it would go away. Could of been better.
