Linda is an absolute gem. She makes 4-hour lectures extremely entertaining and I've yet to leave a class without busting from laughter at least once. Straight to the point and you will easily pass by paying attention to her lectures. There is typically a simple quiz at the end of each class based on that day's, prepare for that. Will take again.

Professor Watts is a true gem. Her lectures are a bit long, but she is caring and will stop to answer any questions from students. She uses a lot of her own personal experiences to make a point about a certain topic. Overall, she is one of the best professors I've ever had.

Took her pre term class that was two weeks long. We took a test at the end of each day. She is very excited and knowledgeable about the topics which helps keep you engaged. I learned a lot and she was very nice, considerate, etc. The class is a good pace for everyone and most people do very well in it, she likes it this way.

She was an amazing teacher! I can't wait to take her next semester! Very passionate about the subject and her students. If you don't pay attention and do your homework it will be hard but she wants everyone to do well so she takes her own free time to hold study sessions before exams! Extremely helpful! Can be a little scatterbrained though!

I took this class during the summer it was an all da class. And there was a test at the end of the day. She did not give us a final but took the avg of all exams and that made the final grade.

Ms. Watts is awesome. Her class is very easy to get an A in if you pay good attention, if you don't then I'm not sure how you will do. She wants students to do well and she will even help you during an exam. She rocks!

In an 8 hrday condensed preterm class, she kept the entire class interested and engaged the whole time. Writing assignments and tests were pretty straightforward and easy. I'm glad I didn't buy the textbook, almost every article she used from it was available online. 1010 is a great intro course, I left wanting more!

Dr Watts was my thesis adviser and she is the most dedicated professor to her students I had in college. She let a few of us help publish a book and journal with her so we could try and get our foot in the door and one of the gals involved got into Oxford, I assure you Linda was a big help (not that that girl wasn't really smart anyway).

Hard to follow teaching style, but always willing to help outside of class. Offers plenty of one on one help before exams and on homework. In class was hard to follow and I lost interest almost as soon as I walked in.

Amazing teacher! One of the best in the anthropology department. Her lectures are extremely organized and clear. Although it was just a 2 week class, you need to attend class to get a good grade. She explains everything in detail and is obviously passionate about the subject. I will definitely take more of her classes!!

Took Dr. Watts' interim course, it was exactly what you would expect from an entry level interim course. Easy A, was a little bored at times, but what class isn't a little boring at times.

While very knowledeable about the subjects she was teaching, Professor Watts had no way of getting the students in her class interested in the subject matter. She has a tendancy to drone and is very scattered in her presentation of slideshows and notes on the board. It was really hard to sit through this class for three hours.

Prof. Watts is the nicest professor! I was having trouble understanding a concept so she sat down with me after class for 30 minutes of her lunch time! I was scared of linguistics at first but she eased me into enjoying the subject and learning how to appreciate language as a science. I learned a lot about the scientific method through this class.

She is the most awesome professor. She is not only super skilled in her field of linguistics and kinship anthropology, she has a remarkable way of understanding the world and does her best to get that through to her students. She does have some growing to do as an instructor, but she is a great teacher. pay attention to her readings....lol

Scattered and droning. Easy class though. Not clear with reading or homework. She knows what she is talking about she just says it in way that are boring and hard to follow. Don't even bother trying to take notes.
