Comment:
Caya was not the most organized for this course as she was often changing dates and requirements for papers, but the changes almost always worked in our favor. Overall, the course was pretty easy as long as you studied well for the exams. There were a few research reviews and a paper that were easy A's as well.

I was worried about taking this class with Lisa because of the reviews on this site, but I was pleased to find out she is a great professor! Her lectures are interesting, funny, and easy to listen to. She makes class interesting and is a clear and easy grader. There were minimal assignments in this class and when there were, they were simple. :)

Very enjoyable lectures, she uses a lot of life experiences of her own to relate back to the material which helps you remember it easily. She's very caring and flexible with you. I really liked this class.

Caya is very unorganized and very behind on grading. Our last class is in 3 days and there are still multiple assignments that were turned in months ago that are yet to be graded. Also gives out a few writing assignments with barely any instructions on what to write. Be prepared to write over and over again about how lifespan relates to your major.

This has been the worst class I have ever taken. She is so unorganized that it is nearly impossible to follow her lectures. At the beginning she used powerpoint and was organized, but by the second exam she was only talking about her family and showing things from other books that we could not access. I do not recommend taking this class.

Dr. Caya is extremely knowledgable in her field, but her class became very unorganized as the semester progressed. She has a ton of great examples and has lots of experience, but she can get off topic and jump around a lot which makes studying for exams difficult since she doesn't give study guides. Also takes a VERY long time to grade.

This was the most unorganized class I have ever taken. The university has a 21 day policy to have grades in for a reason and it took 21+ days to get every single grade done. She makes you write papers that won't be graded until the end of the semester and there is minimal instruction on what to write.

Caya is an amazing professor who really cares about her students. She uses TONS of her own real-life examples to better our understanding of the material. Lectures are actually interesting and something I look forward to. Would definitely recommend.

I took this class online and it was unorganized. Grading was weeks behind and all papers were turned in before any were graded so if you did something wrong you couldn't fix it on the next paper. I read and looked at PowerPoints and still some information from tests could not be found anywhere! It was frustrating. Overall class is not too hard!

Don't take this class online. It was disorganized, hard to follow, and I didn't learn a thing. This was a class I was looking forward to a lot and I think it would have been much better in class. Tests were hard even though you could use the internet/book/slides/etc. All she shares with you are powerpoint slides which are not very in depth.

5 multiple choice exams and 4 papers. She talks about her kids a lot and uses stories about them to explain what you are learning. Sometimes she seems disorganized and is all over the place, but overall tests aren't too bad.

Good professor, make sure you pay attention to her examples when she talks about her kids, they apply in terms of concepts to the exams. Made Psych bearable for me because I dread the subject.

If you're a CYC minor be prepared to be with Lisa a lot. She knows what she's talking about but doesn't know how to articulate it to the class very well. Lectures are confusing and you'll leave class confused. Also don't try and share your view points in class if they are different from hers. She won't even hear them out.

If you need to take PSY 212, I would recommend taking Caya. She is a great professor. She gives 4 exams, and around 4 papers for the semester. Her lectures are very clear, she gives great examples, and she's always making everyone laugh. Extremely relatable professor. I never skipped a class because I enjoyed it!

SUPER DISORGANIZED. She says she's just "switching it up" but she would come into class and ask us what we've talked about. She's hilarious, has a lot of personal stories to tell and she's not difficult, but I value structure and she did not have it. She wouldn't be my first choice but I wouldn't avoid taking her.
