She is SUCH an angel! She takes notes with the class on the board and her tests are straight from her notes! She is very helpful and wants her students to succeed. She tells stories and can get off track easily but overall is a great professor.

Dr CJ is an amazing professor for Physiology! She makes you work for it, but I have learned so much from her. This is the first class that I feel I am learning things I will actually apply to medicine. Take good notes and study hard and it is possible to succeed! She is also my advisor and she is always so helpful. I LOVE HER!!!

Ok, current kiddos who want to go to a professional school, listen up. TAKE THIS CLASS. I am nearly done with my M1 year, and I swear to the biology gods that I have used Dr. CJ's notes for almost every class thus far. Granted it's tough, but you can either whine about it, or suck it up and use it as practice for the real hard stuff to come. 10/10

Dr. CJ is one of the best professors I have had at Xavier. She describes the material in a very slow and descriptive manner. Her test are very straightforward and she genuinely cares about her students. To do well you will need to study a lot, but can't that be said for most biology classes? Overall, she is one of my favorite teachers at X.

She is very good at drawing out and showing the relationship between the different parts of the body. If you are a visual learner I strongly suggest taking her.

Hands down a life saver to have at X. Just adore this women and all the time she spent helping me was awesome. Such a genuinely nice person and if you want to do well she will do everything she can to help you succeed. The way she taught was excellent and nothing was on the test that wasn't in the notes. Love her!

She will most likely move testsdue dates around. She has about 5 tests and many "learning opportunities." She moves rather slowly. To study, I recommend understanding the material rather than just memorizing facts. She bases everything off of how you apply what you learned. She is strict on following directions. Overall, good teacher.

I personally did not like her teaching style very much. She writes all her notes on the board and they were sometimes hard to follow if she forgot something or put something in the wrong order etc. Class is difficult, but as is every other anatomy class. Going to class is a MUST!!

LOVE LOVE LOVE her but her class moved unbelievably slow for the first half of the semester. She REALLY loves blood so be prepared to talk a lot about that! So so so nice and quirky. kind of looks like Mrs. Krank from Christmas with the Kranks. Her class is pretty easy because it's so slow but it's still anatomy so extremely difficult.

Dr. C-J is amazingly kind and cares for all her students. Absolutely go to her office hours as much as you can. Having said that, she tests very hard, and you have to know all of the material like the back of your hand. Just going to class and reading the book is not enough! Make sure to study, study, and study more!

Dr. CJ is a great professor, it is clear she really loves physiology. However, her tests are very tricky. She throws in questions that you will only know if you have studied and truly understand the material. She is willing to help in her office and is very personable, although she does get off topic a lot.

Doctor Close-Jacobs was just an okay teacher. She takes notes on the board with you and answers all of your questions. The downside is she is a very slow teacher. We barely covered 4 out of the 6 major systems which were vital for us to learn.

She is a great professor. She writes everything on the board and truly cares about if we are learning or not. This was the first lecture class that I was able to ask questions. She makes the classroom environment relaxing. Her tests are application based but if you look over the notes and understand everything she puts on the board you'll do great

One of the greatest professors at Xavier. She truly cares about the subject and her students. You can see that she is passionate. I love how she takes notes on the board along with the class. Challenging, but if you care you can get a good grade.

I loved how she took notes with us on the dry erase board, although we got really behind compared to the other classes. The tests were based almost entirely on the notes she gives, NOT the textbook. Very nice lady with a great personality. I would definitely recommend her.

She is one of the best A&P teachers there are. I would recommend taking her class. Tests are based off of notes she gives you in class and she doesn't pick random facts out of the text book that were never talked about like some professors and she is interested in helping her students.

Close-Jacob is a nice lady but she has a lot on her plate and I think it showed sometimes on her tests. Sometimes it seemed like she had stayed up to late trying to make it and the questions ended up being worded weirdly. She is a lovely lady and has the best of intentions but I found when i went to her office hours it didn't help.

She takes attendance every day and bases her tests off of the lecture notes (not the book) but she's good-humored enough that the lectures don't make you want to kill yourself. The tests are difficult but not completely impossible. There's some case study (aka busy) work to earn you some buffer points.

Dr. C-J may be nice, but definitely shows the disadvantages of going to a small university. i.e. you are stuck with her if you have to take vert. phys. she likes to spend the first 10 min. of every monday complaining about her illness over the weekend. the class is a lot of material & ANYTHING is game on a test and you leave not knowing how you did

Dr. CJ may be nice but her class is extremely difficult. i put numerous hours of studying in for vert phys and it wasn't reflected in my grades. you never know what to expect on the tests. going to see her wasn't much help either because she would sympathize with you but give you absolutely no pointers. good luck to anyone who has to take it. :(
