Zimmerman was, yes challenging, but her grading was not. She was truthful and at times a little to polite with grades :) which is not a bad thing. I loved her courses and her and recommend taking her courses.

Lisa is likely one of the best professors at UNCO. Her poetry classes are inspiring, and students who didn't write poetry walked out of her class at the end of the semester with portfolios full of great stuff. I highly recommend taking this professor for any course she offers.

She's very passionate about the class subjects however she does talk too much about her personal life and it can become exhausting. As long as you show up to class you'll do fine. She is a HUGE self-promoter, every class lecture is accompanied by her talking about a book she has written that we should "check out."

I really liked her a lot. She obviously cared for your work on a personal level and would help you with anything you needed. Very easy to work with, directions were really clear. Great class, fantastic teacher. Highly recommend her. My class got extremely close and she had a lot to do with it.

344, 420 also. Lisa is an amazing person and instructor. She cares whole-heartedly for her students and they know it. She is incredibly supportive of every piece of writing and creates a welcoming and intelligent atmosphere for the classroom. I recommend this teacher to every single person on the face of the planet. She will change your life.

Lisa is phenomenal! She is great at what she does, so she knows what she's doing. This was her first year teaching Intro to Creative Writing, but she did spectacularly. I didn't think I could write poetry, and because of her, I received an honorable mention in a writing contest. There will never be enough praise for this woman.

She is a great prof. She understands her students and is very through when explaining them to students. She loves the subject. Be careful to stay up on reading as she does quiz from time to time and she is very serious about the reading. Participation is MANDATORY!
