She's a sweetheart! She gives great feedback and if you have any concerns that need to be addressed, she will take the time to listen and she's always active in her emails, she responds very quickly and she's very caring! and I taking another class with her and it's AFA 313!

Comment:

I enjoyed taking this course. Quite an easy A, plus it's fun and interesting learning about the different musical cultures around the world. She adds links of different music to enjoy. Dr. Lois Alexander is an easy grader and the whole class is just easy. If you love music, this is an easy course and I love music so I knew I would get an A.

She is a wonderful woman and takes music seriously. You can tell she has a passion for teaching and loves students that are dedicated. I believe it's not true that she favors one select group of musicians over another, only that she doesn't take whining and complaining from the vocalists. Also if you're transferring don't tell everyone + their bro.

Dr. A. is a very sweet woman. I didn't continue with the class simply because the class took a lot of time for few little credit hours earned. I would recommend Dr. A. to a friend.

She definitely pick favorites (low brass) and she holds a major grudge against vocalists. She is the head of the music dept. but definatly does not have any respect for any form but her own. And even though she tells you one thing make sure to read the hand book, because she lies if she doesn't like you, so you fail.

She was very kind at first but after she heard about my transfer to a conservatory she started bad mouthing me to other professors saying that I had no talent and did not deserve to go to a conservatory. She DOES pick favourites, and yes it's true, if you make the slightest mistake you're on her bad side forever. She never forgives or forgets. I missed ONE class due to a doctor's appt and she freaked out and has given me dirty looks and the silent treatment ever since. Very immature.

Fun class. Very easy and professor is energetic and on-fire about what she is teaching. Exercises are a little boring, but this class offers an easy "A" and would be beneficial to any future educator. I recommend this professor!

I took this class in the spring and it was one of the best classes I have taken in college. I love music, so I could totally apply her teachings to my future classroom. I thought she was great. I learned a lot from her. She was easy to understand and seemed to care about us. Take her in the spring!!

The most boring, pointless class I have EVER taken!! All we did was bounce tennis **** for an entire semester! The only good thing is the GPA boost the A gave me.
