Comment:
Philosophy is rather boring overall, but I only took this because it was required at Salve. Dr. Eveleth was very straightforward with everything. If you just write down the important points she makes in class and study them then you will pass the few tests with As. She swears you need to read the books, you don't. Just listen to her points in class

She is a very nice lady and not a bad teacher. If you go to class and pay attention it won't be hard at all. My only issue is the lack of grades and feedback. We had two papers and 3 tests all semester (one test was only a 10 question t/f), which is good workwise but terrible if one grade is bad. Didn't give any feedback/guidelines to the papers

I have her for the seminar class and I find her class extremely easy if you pay attention. She's boring, but really nice and gives you long periods of time on homework assignments. If you take notes in class and use them to write your essay you'll definitely get a good grade. I've had 2 essays and got A's on both and didn't try hard on either.

She is terrible. Very little assignments, but she is an extremely hard grader. For a university seminar it should not be this hard. Normally an A student with a C in this class because she is so hard. Nice lady but doesnt help you when you ask and is such a hard grader. Do not take her.

Great class! she speaks very dry but cracks a few jokes here and there. The class is very interesting if you want it to be! The tests are straight forward and anyone can do well if they study and take notes in class. Overall I loved this class and really enjoyed her as a teacher. She goes over and over the material so you understand everything

Dr. Eveleth inspired me to become a philosophy major. She is the epitomy of a wise and intelligent woman, and she truly has a passion for what she does. The only people who do not like her are those who don't get the grades; however this seems impossible, because she outlines everything and always allows for corrections to be made to papers.

ONE OF THE NICEST PEOPLE YOU WILL EVER MEET! SHE IS SO KNOWLEDGABLE IN THE FIELD OF PHL. SHOW UP TO CLASS AND KNOW WHAT SHE WANTS, AND SPEAK UP IF YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND SOMETHING. VERY FAIR, HONEST GRADER WITH SEMI-CHALLENGING TESTS. BUT IF YOU WANT TO LEARN THIS IS THE CLASS FOR YOU!

I find Eveleth to be irritatingly boring. She speaks in monotone and is so lacking in emotion and expression that class seems mind-numbingly slow. She is intelligent, but not a talented teacher. She's also, from what I can tell, pretty conservative, which might become problematic down the line.

There should be more Dr. Eveleths in the class. I remeber her classes daily she is a truly remarkable teacher with a knowledge and devotion that is truly inspiring. She may seem boring at times but if you listen there is no limit to what you will learn. Her high standards made me a better student and inspired me to become a philosophy major.

The only people who don't like Dr. Eveleth are the ones who (deservedly) get bad grades in her classes. She's clear, logical, and passionate about getting students to understand philosophy. Sure, philosophy isn't for everyone, but neither is college. Those who can't get along with her should rethink their decision to pursue an undergrad degree.

Dr. Eveleth is a good professor if you're interested in philosophy. You write a lot of essays in the Seeking Wisdom class, but she tells you how to set them up so it's not that hard. Overall, the class is pretty easy.

High standards, very knowledgable, and therefore unpopular with stupid people. She knows a great deal and is very clear headed. no fluff and B.S. Take her only if you want to learn something. She is demanding but fair.

Very nice lady. She is a bit rough on the grading of essays and since there were no tests or quizzes, these grades are crutial! She talks pretty much the whole class and you just have to sit there and listen... It can be a bit boring, but she is a nice lady. We got christmas cookies at the end of fall semester..:)

The worst teacher ever. She went on about nothing for hours. The class was useless information. Her tests are easy, except for the essay parts. On one exam two girls in my class answered an essay in pretty much the same way and one girl got it wrong and the other got it right. I guess you have to be on Eveleths good side...

Dr. Eveleth means it when she sasys she wants to see that your tongue is attached to your brain when you talk in class. If you pay attention and put in a little effort, you'll get a lot out of her class. If you blow it off, however, you'll never make it out alive.
