Comment:
I am Professor Lollar's daughter and if you show up and do the work, you will do well in his class. He tells you upfront how to succeed, so take him seriously! DO THE HOMEWORK. At least one test question WILL BE from the homework. Also, he is very understanding, so if you miss something, be sure to let him know and he will be glad to help you out.

Tests are too long and are both 25%. The project is very tedious and he expects you [unspoken agreement]to work some/a majority by hand. You will not make a 100 if you did everything with MATLAB. He doesn't bother to go through the computer code to see what it does. HW is pretty easy, but is only 10%. He is very helpful and responds to all emails.

Mr. Lollar is a nice guy, not a great teacher. The examples in class do not prepare you for the homework, and the homework does not prepare you for the test. The book is pretty good though. Recommend someone else if available.

First test is easy if you study. Second test is somewhat harder. Final contains a suprising amount of space power systems on it. Good teacher, decent class.

1 test is a give me. 2nd test is a little harder. make sure you understand the power flow charts. final difficulty is similar to 2nd test. make sure you know about solar cell stuff.

Assigns mult HW probs every class and collects 1 on the next class. Likes to throw curves on the tests. Tests are ENTIRELY too long. Grades fairly for math mistakes. No scales till end of term. HW only 5% of grade. 3 tests & final were 90% of grade.

Clueless about EE fundamentals like superposition. Arrogant without realizing he was out of his arena of expertise. No wonder NASA has crashes with Loller working for them.

Typical Auburn engineer at UAH: can't pronounce Thevenin or spell it. Had screwy formatting on the final. Teaching could have been better, but he did work a lot of problems and try in his way.
