Loved Lori so much!!! she's so sweet and knowledgeable. she's very passionate and fun to talk to. her lectures are interesting and the class discussions are very educational and fun!!! her class was so difficult and work heavy, though. i spent a lot of time outside of class reading. get ready for that, but also for lori's sweetheart personality

Great professor. Very knowledgeable and confident. Many pop quizzes but they're all very fair; she never quizzed on something that could be interpreted differently by students. Do the readings and you will do well. Grades fairly and gives good, typed feedback. I would recommend Dr. Burlingame.

Dr. Burlingame is one of the sweetest professors Ive had thus far. At first she may come across as stern but she is very lenient and wants the best for her students. I enjoyed her class a lot, she doesnt assign much homework, and when she does its always something that can be done in a timely fashion. Highly recommend her.

Simply put, she has no personality. Expects students to know native american history like her. Name drops random natives and tells boring stories all the time. Always a pop quiz on the book reading every class on minor details that you could easily miss while reading (I did). I struggled with writing papers for the only time in my life in her class

She is clearly very passionate about what she's teaching. She is really nice, it was just so hard to keep on the readings and she does reading quizzes every class that there was reading.

She's very kind & loves teaching. She cares, is helpful, wants you to do well. Also very knowledgeable. One criticism I have is that 310 is more breadth than depth. It was sort of easy to forget some of what we read (not good for tests) because there was a lot of short stuff. Would have preferred full texts rather than excerpts.

Although her lectures can be kind of dry, she is very highly educated and passionate about what she is teaching. Her grading scale is easy, not much work a few big things and pop quizzes. She cares, ask her anything and she will help. She even called me to discuss a paper with me to ensure any questions I had were answered.

Lori is very professional in the classroom. She is extremely knowledgeable in the subject and is passionate about this topic, which is important to have when it comes to literature. I learned a large deal of information about Native American people and would highly recommend it. There is a lot of reading, but it's literature!! Appreciate it!!

This professor gives a lot of lectures and has a lot of full class discussions. If you do not like the topic the class is covering, do not take the class with this professor. Even as someone who liked the subject, this professor is dull in her presentation style. Be prepared for a lot of reading. She is very tough on how she grades in class essays.

The 4 novels for semester were interesting and easy to read. 3 in class essayexams, 1 analysis & critique essay. She gives many pop quizes on reading and is a moderate grader. She is scripted and kind of monotone, but the class is lively if everyone reads and participates. If you show up and take notes, you generally will do well.

She is extremely dry with her lectures which sucks because if you zone out you just missed all of the material on her exams. She doesn't have a lot of assignments but does frequent reading quizzes so make sure to do the reading. Overall, she's just a very boring professor.

Well, the class was pretty good because you learn so much about the things the Natives went thru, but she just talks and talks, in this compoletely boring monotone voice. If she acted as tho she wasn't bored with herself it could be a little more interesting. Failed a lot of pop quizzes and still passed with a B. Piece of cake.

Burlingame was wonderful. Though lectures seemed dry at first, I grew to love them, especially when coupled with discussion. The books were very interesting, and I learned so much about Native American culture. She made this my favorite class! Just be sure to do the readings because she does daily quizzes on them. I highly recommend her!

What an amazing class! Not only will you learn a lot in any of Lori's classes, but you'll also read a lot of great literature, and constantly be challenged with various class assignments. Lori is an amazing professor and a genuinely nice person. Definitely take her, if you can!

She's a very nice person. Lectures are pretty boring, and you'll do a LOT of reading, but some of the books we read were SO GOOD! She also gives you a lot of feedback with papers and tests. She and everyone in the class was very uptight about Native American rights and thinking they are so much better than white people (no race is better IMO)
