She is such a sweetheart. I absolutely love class with her. She's very caring, interesting to listen to and discuss topics with. She is clearly passionate about her field and about her students. I highly recommend her!

Prof. Smith loves English and wants her students to get the most they can out of the class and will help you however she can. Unfortunately, as with many intro courses, you had students who didn't really care, which I think was disappointing to her, but she always tried to find the positive in whatever they did.

She is a wonderful person and a brilliant professor. The only problem I had was that sometimes her assignments are not super clear, and she changes the syllabus a lot. But I still learned so much from her, and her enthusiasm and energy is contagious. Highly recommend taking a class with her.

Biggest waste of time. As a graduated english major I look back and wish I never took her class. She assigned the same paper multiple times, her classes were pointless, her midterm a joke and she picked favorites. Hands down worst english prof. at the college. If what you want to say isnt in-line with what she thinks, better keep it to yourself.

I didn't come from a very good high school, so I was lost at the beginning of her class. She noticed this and took me aside and worked with me in her free time. She's a very caring person and not to mention fun...we even did yoga one day!

I loved Lorrie's class..how could you not? I will admit she was not my favorite at the beginning but then you start to realize just how amazing she is. Very willing to help and loves it if you show interest. I LOVE YOU LORRIE SMITH!

lorrie is great for the subjects that she specializes in. she is often very abstract, but she's very helpful if you have questions. i don't suggest her for survey courses, but for african american or modernist lit, you'll learn a lot.
