Knows what he is talking about but doesnt know how to teach it. Spends all of class drawing graphs on the board but everything just gets confusing. You really have to read the book outside of class, if you try to study your notes you will just get lost. Nice guy but bad teacher.

Terrible instructor, almost as dry as Mirza, but doesn't seem impossible to get an A. 5 page paper on any economic policy is worth 40% of your grade. Word of advice: he only looks at your charts and statistics; the more Econ you pretend to know, the more likely you are to succeed.

I have purposely not rated Prof Cain for the past 3 years because I didn't want his classes to fill up. His lectures may be dry and he's an older guy but his grading style and assignments are very predictable and manageable. He is so cute and helpful and loves when you go to office hours. Now that's Im graduating I'll say it: he's great!! Take him!

This class is hard. PERIOD. Regardless of professor. Tests are curved like crazy because they are difficult, but getting a decent grade is simple. Cain teaches the main point of the chapter effectively, but you need to be able to interpret graphs and diagrams. Equal time must be spent reading textbook outside of class. He is funny and friendly, too

He's a litte tough to understand because he is very monotone. But he is a very sweet old man. He curves the tests by a lot and is willing to help you as much as you want. There are a bunch of problem sets, 3 tests, and one final. If you attend class and pay attention, you'll definitely get an A!

Very intelligent professor, and I learned a great deal from his economic history class. I personally think students who have a strong interest in economics and/or are economics majors would appreciate Cain's style of teaching much more. I don't know how he is for Econ 201 or 202, but I recommend for higher level.

Probably the hardest class I have taken yet. Tests are impossible with multiple choice and easier essays. Only 3 tests and that is it. Not required to go to class and class doesn't help you learn anything honestly. Best to try and learn it by yourself and try to get a C. Curves heavily which helps. Must take for business majors though.

Terribly dry class, tests can be studied for by doing the homework and using the online study tools. Teaching style is extremely boring. Just writes graphs on the board and gives lame examples. Don't take in the morning.

Class is extremely boring, and it is really not that important to go. If you have a comprehensive understanding of economics prior to this class, you will be just fine. By no stretch of imagination is this class an easy A.

Nice guy, not a good teacher. Spends the whole class writing meaningless formulas and unclear charts on the board. I had this as a once a week night class and about 80% of the class left after the halfway break every week.Painfully boring. If you do take him, read the book, and good luck, you'll need it.

Gosh... very unclear. He teaches the class like you a history of economics. He just talks and talks about curves and numbers and doesn't explain its meaning. If you want to pass his class, read the whole chapter before attending the class. His not that bad if you know your econ but for those who are not econ major..FIND somebody else

He is a very intelligent individual. He has a personal life story for almost every economical situation. All grades are "curved"; although the curving paradigm isn't well defined. No worries...still made a good grade. Read the book before class and you will do fine.

3 exams and 5 homework assignments. Everything is curved. This class is hard because Dr. Cain expects students to learn a lot. Most times in class you will not understand things if you do not read so make sure you do the reading before class. He is very helpful and smart so if you want to learn he will teach. DO NOT TAKE IF NOT AN ECON MAJOR!!

Very nice man, but he cannot teach economics 202. He dose not teach out of the book, but if you take his class the book is useful because you will need it to study on your own. He puts nothing but graphs on the board and dosen't explain what they are for. This class is strongly for people who likes economics.

Cain's class is good for independent learners. You have to really work a lot on your own to understand the material. Course has three major exams and a few homeworks that weigh as one exam. Homework is easy; exams are a little tough.

This was my second semester with Dr. Cain. Very hard to get an A in the class, but pretty easy B. 5 homework assignments, 3 (mc with a couple essay questions) exams including the final. Only problem is he doesnt really tell you what to study for on the exams, but overall good professor and not too hard.

I got a b+ minimal effrt
