Comment:
This class is actually pretty easy. I only took general chem in high school and still knew most materials taught in class. She always starts the class with lectures and spend the last 20 min doing in class worksheets. The quiz and test problems are mostly from the worksheet (which are pretty easy). The readings aren't necessary.

You need to do the reading and go to class every day in order to do well. Plan on visiting her office to make sure you have the info, otherwise the quizes may become too much.

She is a really nice person, but she expects too much from her class. Not that is it a bad thing, but I feel the only way you can really learn something from her is to go to her office and I know as a student you don't have time everyday to go to a teachers office. This is what class is for... to learn the material.

She is very into what she is teaching. If you need help just ask her, she's very good about it. The course is somewhat difficult. Lots of outside of class work optional, but basically needed. She is overall a good prof.

She is pretty good. She really cares about what she's teaching and wants you to understand the material. Lectures aren't bad, homework is really easy, and tests aren't too tough if you keep up.

Good, fairly easy chemistry prof. I had no trouble learning from her and am taking her again next quarter. I wish she made us do the homework so I would have extra practice.

Tilstra is pretty good in general. She's not the most clear during her lectures, but her test aren't all that hard. Quizzes are easy, plus there's no homework to turn in.

Sometimes worries more about how she speaks english than the actual material. Expects you to do a lot of work outside of class, but if you do the homework and pay attention, you'll know your stuff, that is if you can keep up with the course as it goes kind of fast.

Found myself zoning out during class while she talks. It seems like she tries to use big words and be grammatically correct instead of teaching the lesson. Basically it's a slow moving class. Tests aren't too bad and quizzes are straight forward - no tricks. Overall she covers the material well.

Not very good at explaining stuff. She even admitted this fact herself. The course itself isn't exactly easy, but if she wasn't ambiguous in her lessons, she could have made learning a lot easier...
