Comment:

Favorite prof of the semester! He's very well spoken and gives clear lectures. Don't need to memorize info from them though. Quizzes weekly, questions known in advance based on assigned readings. 12 labs and 3 projects, all fun and easy but expect to work on labs outside of class time. He's always there to help during assigned lab time.

Definitely take his class if youre looking to fulfill the L GenEd. Hes such a nice teacher and is very considerate with his grades. Attendance wasnt mandatory but I still suggest attending lectures. Quizzes every monday but the questions are given ahead of time and are usually easy. Labs are interesting and cool. Highly recommend Prof. Willis!

Let me get this out of the way, the class is not that interesting. However, it is so easy and especially if you aren't good at science you should take this class for the L gen ed. Their is a quiz every Monday, but he gives you questions before and you can just look up answers online. Labs give you step by step instructions. Such a nice guy.

You never know what you have until its gone- and I am certain there is no one else in this world that can make geography anywhere near as interesting as Mr. Willis does. He is so passionate about his field of study, and it shows in every single lesson. Very sweet and easy-going. Blew my mind with how much there is to know about mapping.

Professor is so passionate about the subject. I took the class for a gen ed and I was not interested in the topic, but it is very easy to do well. He gives you step-by-step directions for every lab and the weekly quizzes are annoying but not bad. The projects are easy and there is no final. He genuinely loves the topic and is always willing to help

I took GEOG 360 with Professor Willis who made it interesting and almost fun. When I had computer issues he was super accommodating and really laid back about it, allowing me to turn in work late because of my situation. The questions he gives for homework are word for word the questions of quizzes. Easy to get at least an A- in the class.

maybe it has changed since the class is now distance learning, but I found the class to be quite irritating. He's a great guy, but sometimes hard to get a hold of (forget office hours, you need an appt). labs were sometimes unclear (he skips steps) and have to go in to talk to him about them.

I took both 360 and 463 with him. He's fantastic! Forget his office hours, he's there all day walking around. Knows GIS inside and out and is so helpful and a great resource. The class is fair, the workload keeps you busy but not too overwhelmed. Weekly quizzes, 3 projects, weekly labs. I highly recommend any course he teaches!

Awesome pofessor. Weekly quizzes and one lab per week. Lectures can be long and kinda tiring, but he tries hard to make it interesting. He is always always willing to help no matter what, in class or outside of the lab. If I could I would take more classes than just the two he offered

other than the extremely long and dull lectures (not his fault it was the material) this class was good. The labs are understandable and explained very well. He is always willing to help. The weekly quizzes were not always easy and i found myself cramming every week in order to do well. Otherwise i totally recommend taking his class!

The class has a good format, and keeps you committed the entire semester. Lectures can be a little long, but it is balanced with the lab work. Prof Willis is very helpful and will always answer any questions. I would recommend this class for anyone interested in Geography.

Comment:

Took the class to fulfill a math/science requirement for the Biol CCM B.S. program and had no interest in it to begin with. Prof Willis made the material understandable and even a bit fascinating. Class itself is not very hard - but does require an honest time commitment. I would highly recommend Prof Willis for this class.

If you have any problems with the labs/projects he is extremely helpful. No tests, just quizzes/labs/projects. He tries to make the lectures not so boring, however most of the time they are though, not his fault though. Good professor, would recommend taking this class.

Lucius is a great guy. He is always willing to help any student. Lectures are not mandatory, but they will def. help you during labs. Quizzes are straightforward, but sometimes require memorizing a decent amount of material. That can sometimes be a burden. He is a down to earth guy. Great class!! Recommended!!

His lectures are pretty dry mostly because of the material. Labs are sometimes confusing due to the lab book, but he is always willing to help and explains things clearly when it comes to the labs and projects. If you show up, do the labs until done correctly, it is impossible to fail.
