If you pay attention in his class and show up you will be successful. He doesn't grade that hard as long as you complete all the requirements on the assignment. Class has never gone for more than 45 minutes which is great. He might seem mean at first but he's a sweetheart. You have frequent quizzes but they all should be easy if you pay attention.

This professor is extremely rude and not knowledgeable on the material he is trying to teach. If your opinion differs from his, even if you are correct and make sense or have a logical rebuttle; that is just too bad, as he doesnt care and will make sure to make you feel lesser for it. Leave his class while you can. He is awful.

Professor Brinker was by FAR one of the worst teachers I've had. He is a VERY HARD grader, and expects absolutely everything and I mean EVERYTHING to be perfect, or else he will give you grade in the 70s. Don't take unless you're super good at English. Spent many sleepless nights trying to get his assignments right. Beware!!!!

This is not a class for slackers - It's for serious college students. You want to learn and greatly improve your writing skills? Take this professor. He is extremely knowledgeable. Papers assigned aren't hard but they do require time and effort. You will definitely use the books so BUY THEM. There is only 2 and they aren't expensive.

Dr. Brinker is a funny and intelligent professor, however he is rude, blunt and will make you feel awful about yourself. I had never been yelled at by a professor, until I took his class. Pay attention and follow his instructions. His assignments are straight forward and get them all done and you'll be fine.

If you're a note-taker based on power-point slides, do not take this professor. He goes very fast on the notes and you have no time to write anything down. Very harsh grader on the essays and pop quizzes. He's not a bad professor, nor the greatest. If you want a challenge, take this professor. There is no extra credit at all.

Dr. Brinker is a great professor! He assigns a series of papers all related to a topic of your choice. He is a super tough professor, and makes you earn your A. You use the book a lot, and get assignments from it almost every class. Do your homework and take advantage of his office hours!

Professor Brinker is one of my favorite English professors at Macomb. He knows the subject very well and explains everything you need to do for a paper in great detail. Your grade is based on five papers but it is possible to get an A if you follow the criteria. If you actually want to improve your writing skills, take his class.

I really enjoyed his class, he is funny and very intelligent and he knows how to keep you entertained. As far as grading goes he is strict but not to strict. You definitely have to have good attendance as well as turning in all of your assignments on time or you wont get a passing grade. His class is challenging but not impossible.

He has a lot of back round. I liked him as an English teacher. He knew what he was doing. He is very enthusiastic and has lots of energy, even on his poor days. The class hours were not that long. It is required 2 books, but it is a simple class. I wrote my papers based on the examples and that's what helped me passed.

This class wasn't too bad. You definitely have to try but I hate writing and I received an easy B+. You get to write about anything you want, therefore it is interesting to you. Spend a little time and you can easily get an A or B. If your willing to put a little effort in, you will be fine taking Professor Brinker. Go to class.

Stay away from this guy. Has a terrible attitude and not willing to help. I asked him if i could just do one assignment over again just to bring my grade from a C- to a C. Did not accept. Useless assignments. Class is based on 5 papers. Thats it.
