Do the HW, and you will do great. There is a lot of it, but the tests are just like it and are open note with unlimited time. I usually took 2 hours, so I could check it over. Also, be sure to sit on the left side of the room; you'll know what I mean if you sit on the right side...

Comment:

He said the first week that this was supposedly his last year and boy did he show it. He was extremely unorganized, graded with solution manual and then gave zero feedback on anything, lectured straight from notes and couldn't answer questions for the life of him. Grade-wise he's alright, but being satisfied with the class is impossible.

Comment:

Christie is very smart so he doesn't always understand why students don't get things, but don't think he's being insulting! Some people think that but he will always help you if you don't know. Lots of homework though, and you have to do it or don't expect to do well on any tests. Also I'm not confident that he teaches for the common exam well.

Comment:

If you don't mind work, take him. You will learn EVERYTHING you need, will even review alot from past classes. His hw packets are huge and take forever and his exams are apx 3-4 hrs. Unlimited time on the exams so set aside plenty of time but you get your notes. Doesn't give great feedback so talk to him, and make sure he grades correctly.

He is a really good professor. The test material is Identical to what he taught in the class. If you do the homework, you'll do good in his course.

Gives a ton of examples which really prepares you for the tests. The tests are exactly like his examples/homework so the work is worth it. Would absolutely take again.

Excessive amount of busy work, but the material was pathetically simple. A majority of the class is a restatement of basic dynamics using imaginary notation for polar coordinates. The professor belabors simple points making the lectures dreadfully slow.

Lecture is full of examples which are pretty solid and should prepare you for exams. Will slow course down for comprehension but speeds up towards the end to make up for lost time. Both homework and exams take a long time to complete, despite preparation. There is a common part of the final, but he will add his own questions to the final as well.

Christie wants you to learn and if you show interest in understanding the material you will be rewarded. Doesn't go over much theory but does a ton of examples that resemble the homework. His tests are crazy long so try not to have a class afterwards, but they aren't terribly hard.

Christie is the best. Exams were easy, comprehensive, but an endurance run. Not so great at teaching theory, but gives enough examples so you understand. Every minute of class is used. Electric lecturer, makes you understand the importance of the material. Wants to see everyone do well. Take him whenever possible.

O-o-o! Very enthusiastic and always willing to help if you have any extra questions. However as others have said, make sure you have at least 1 free hour after his class for when you have exams - one of our midterms was supposed to be 2 hours, and at least half the class was still working after 3 hours.

Very Good Professor as he really cares, MON. Tests are long, but basically exactly same as the homework. Just take the time to do homework (it's critical mon) and you will be fine. Make sure you have a free hour after his class for exam days. Really worth taking. Don't be cryin' mon if ya don't do da homework and geta bad grade.

2nd class I've had him for. He assigns a lot of homework, and it gets very frustrating later in the quarter when you know you could have taken professors that give half the work, and you get the same grade. I'm trying to avoid him next quarter simply because I need a break from all of his homework.

Be Prepared to hear "this is very critical" and "take a note" upwards of a 100 times per class. "Why you be cryin mon?" "makes me want to open a red stripe" loves "frontin loadas" Angle alpher and bater haha. TOO MUCH HOMEWORK!!! Pulls equation right out of his... "this is a tough chapter i'm going to milk you on it"
