Comment:

Professor Randa is VERY sweet and funny, but she isn't the best teacher. If you want to succeed do the online homework, take advantage of extra credit, do well on lab report, and READ THE TEXTBOOK. Her tests are hard unless you really digest her lectures AND the textbook chapters. This class requires a lot of independent learning.

She was one of my favorites. She made us work hard but in the end it was all worth it. Take advantage of the online work, it definitely helps bring the grade up. Also, read the book it clarifies a lot of concepts. And if that does not help, the teacher is there to guide you man. But yeah, put work in to see results. Or don't complain.

Comment:

Prof. Randa is a really nice person and she loves nature and her job. She focuses a lot on prairie stuff. Lectures are boring and can be missed. Most learning must be done by reading the book. Her outlines help some but really don't cover the exam material. She might be a great fit for some students who learn primarily from the book by themselves.

Lectures are boring but they have all the information you need for the test. Light reading from the book. Not much to actually do besides online quizzes every other week. Most class time is done outside in the prairie which is pretty awesome. So if you don't want to sit in a class take this class!

I rated her a 4 out of 5 because I can understand where she wouldn't be a fit for some students. Her lectures were not help, just read the text book or find you own methods of studying like I did.(ap biology reading guide fred and theresa holtzclaw chapter answers) These saved me! Lot's of learnsmart quizzes ( super easy) and reading, and labs are a little difficult. Other than that, it's extremely easy for an online science course. She also makes herself very available for outside help.

She is so sweet and helpful even outside classes she is willing to devote her time. However sometimes in the back it is difficult to hear her sometimes. Sometimes her lectures get monotonous which is why you really have to focus to stay on top of the lecture. Has extra credit opportunities which is ssuuuperb! Also has a wonderful personality!

I was hesitant to take this class because of the rating I saw on here - but I honestly have no idea how someone could rate her lower than a 5!! Mrs. Randa is so sweet and wants everyone to succeed. She will go the extra mile to help any of her students. Trust me - she's awesome! Take her class!

GREAT TEACHER I LOVED TAKING HER CLASS SHE IS HELPFUL, KIND, KNOWLEDGEABLE, AND REALLY CARES ABOUT STUDENTS LEARNING BIOLOGY NOT JUST GETTING THROUGH IT WITH AN EASY GRADE. Too many extra credits. Biology might be hard for some, but if you're really good at it, expect to have above a grade above a 100%. Tests are like 116110, and then there are also other bonus extra credits. Study guides are really helpful to review for the exams, but usually I read all the chapters that will be in the exam.

Honestly, I would not recommend her. I got stuck in this class bc the timings were the only ones that worked for me but her tests are super hard. She gives outlines but its misleading because you need to study more than whats given on the outlines. I would recommend waiting and taking another instructor for bio 2!

She's easy on the eyes. I've never read the book(though she suggests it), she gives 4 lecture exams and a final which is a lot of exams. But this is nice because it's just much less material per exam. I got an A. My rec: print out lecture slides and take additional notes while she talks. Only annoying thing is online homework.

She offers extra help and extra credit to boost your grade up. If you do all the extra credit, go to class, do all the weekly homework, and study then you should get an A or B. Also, make sure to study all her lecture outlines because the tests are based off of those.

Randa was a nice lady. But she did not teach in depth, but her tests did go in depth. If you are ok with teaching yourself material then you will do ok. But if you learn better with a lot of guidance from the teacher then I do not suggest taking the class from her.

If you take her you must keep up with all her materials she gives you. I found this class very challenging because she was so boring. I loved biology until I took this class. Her information is all over the place which is very confusing.

Science classes are not easy (ex: Biology, Chemistry, Physics)so don't expect classes higher than survey to be easy in those fields. If you read the sections of the text book based off of her outlines she provides, you will ace the class. If you mess up on one exam her extra credit makes up for it and she curves exams if averages are low. Solid.
