If you don't like this professor, it's because you aren't willing to tackle college- or graduate-level work. She demands both from you because she treats you as a professional adult, and she gives assignments that are "hands on" and intended to help you succeed as an academic. She's dependable, accessible, and her classes are, dare I say, FUN.

Honestly, I have never regretted taking a professor before as much as her. She was rude, disinterested, unhelpful and overall a terrible professor! She somehow always forgot I was in the class and when I asked for help, she completely ignored me. I don't what I ever did to her but if she doesn't like you, expect to fail.

Dr. Gaillet is one of the most impressive professors I've ever had. She's funny, personable, understanding, *insert multiple positive qualities*. She is more willing to work with you than almost any professor I've encountered. The class is challenging, but she makes it doable. Needless to add, I super recommend her for ANYTHING.

Dr. Gaillet is a dynamo! I don't see how she manages all her research, publishing, and teaching - but she does. Always has her students' best interests at heart. 8120 is excellent and should be required for all PhD students who hope to become academic professionals. Valuable class!

Dr.Gaillet is an excellent professor. The class I took was not focused on expository writing, but archival research. If you are not a fan of researching don't take this class. But if you want to learn something new and get a good grade, take this class.

Dr. Gaillet is great, she tells funny stories and makes the class enjoyable. However, if you take her expository writing class you need to start researching archives. She is a relatively easy grader but can get picky toward the end of the semester. Great teacher, not so great a class.

Ok be aware! She is SUPER nice SUPER smart and SUPER helpful. A great professor, no doubt about it. However, SHE WILL NOT TEACH EXPOSITORY WRITING. Its an archival research class and if you are willing to lose many hours of sleep, and dedicate a big chunk of your time to this one class then go for it. I wish I had known it was archival research...

Nice teacher. Her explanations were thorough, and she always went over assigned readings and opened the floor for discussion.

3 papers, a presentation, book review, a final theory paper or pedagogical project (lesson plan w/assignments) and a final exam. This class is not hard, but if you have no interest in teaching it's as fun as watching paint dry. Gaillet is very fair and willing to work with students. Buy the book, you will need it! It's chock full of boring articles

As far as assessment, there are 3 short papers, a teach the class project, a pedagogy project (or a long paper) and a final exam. Sometimes, her grades are ambiguous. She told me in class that I did a fantastic job and then gave me a B+ on the project. Sometimes her directions aren't clear. She tries to be really helpful and entertaining.
