Professor Johnson is extremely nice and helpful. However, she gives a ridiculous amount of work for only being a 100 level class. Yes, she gives study guides but they are 2 pages long full of dates and terms you have to memorize. I'm taking all 300 and 400 level classes and this one required the most work. Do not take unless you are a music major.

very easy course. Quizzes every class based on previous lecture. review sheets are exactly what will be asked on the exams. lectures are interesting. have to attend one concert outside of class on own time. Professor is very enthusiastic and approachable.

Prof. Johnson is really easy to understand and she makes the class very interesting. As long as you take the time to get familiar with the terms and important things in the class, it's an easy A. Listening guides are graded very easily and she really cares about her students. Great introductory class to the background of musical culture.

Great professor she really cares and tries to get to know all her students. Lectures are easy to understand and makes it interesting. She basically tells you what going to be on the tests. Attendance is mandatory though. Highly recommended!

Very good teacher. She's very enthusiastic about the course, and learns all the student's names very quickly. There are 20 small quizzes, but they are cake and she only counts 10 of them, which is nice if you accidentally miss a class or three. Overall, easy class, nice, enthusiastic teacher and an easy A or high B at the worst.

Pro. Johnson is a wonderful teacher. There are 20 quizzes BUT they are easy. As long as you go to class, take notes, the quizzes should be a breeze. She is VERY friendly and nice. She cares about her students and knows her subjects really well. Take this course if you can. Wonderful class and professor. Highly recommend.
