Comment:
Dr. Clark is knowledgeable about politics but not about engaging students. Lectures are long and sometimes boring. He tells you straight out that he doesn't want a debate and won't share his opinion - spoiler alert, you get both. Argumentative. However, when he's not running a class, he's a pleasant, smart guy. Only take if mandatory.

Dr. Clark was a cool dude. He is up there in age and forgets a lot of things but his lectures were very interesting and kept his class involved. He is a pretty difficult grader but the work is not too difficult. Funny guy, fun class.

Great teacher! I've had over 20 teacher while in college and no one was better than Clark. He was not an easy teacher, but he was not hard. He does lecture w/PwrPoint, but he engages the class into the topics. Teachers need to take pointers from him, because he is good at teaching the material in a way that everything he says u retain.

Difficult teacher who desn't compromise. You do things his way or you fail. Goes away from material often. Hates when people disagree with him and tries to make you feel stupid when you do. Doesn't speak clearly. BUT he's a nice guy when you stay off politics or government, which is sad since that's what he teaches.

Im not going to lie, at first, I was terrified of Professor Clark. I thought I was going to have to drop his class becuase he made it sound like it was impossible to pass. But I stuck around and he is actually quite nice! Just do the work and listen and you should be fine!

Comment:
Students are turned off by him because his classes can be a bit disorganized and class discussion sometimes goes on tangents. He requires more from students than an average teacher and many students today find that to be a valid excuse to "hate" him. But if you're smart and pay attention, he's clearly the political science authority at St. Xavier.

DONT TAKE HIM! He assigns stupid papers, grades subjectively, & insults you for your opinion. If he likes you he'll grade easier, if not dont bother showing up. He spends whole classes showing you "how to write an essay" but then gets mad when you "copy his example" he really shouldnt be teaching, plus you cant go over his head: he IS the dept head

I took Clark a few semesters back, and following are the life lessons I learned from him: I learned that I will not always be treated fairly in life; I must hold my head high when insulted; I may be judged (graded) subjectively, and just because a person has a professional title does not mean he will act in a professional manner.

He is a very nice guy outside of class. He has no idea what he is doing sometimes and makes the class more difficult than it needs to be. After doing tons of work for the class he ended up giving people the same grade even though some people didn't even turn it in. He is set in his ways, his way or no way. He is always right. And he picks faves.

Dont take o g. His intelligence doesn't interpret well as a teacher. Even when you ask his help all he does in run you around in a circle. After changing up my writing style, with his help mind you he still gave me a C.

He is a very smart man although he does have difficulty dumbing himself down to allow his students to understand sometimes. If you attend class and actually listen you will be able to pass. Staying after to ask questions doesn't hurt. He likes students who show an interest in the class.

Dr. Clark is boss. One of the best teachers I ever had. I look forward to taking his classes again. He knows like everything. A little bit of bias, sure, but the man knows his stuff and is passionate about it. His papers are difficult for sure, but as long as you put in the effort you'll be fine. Class discussion is great. He really promotes it.

You are all being too critical. If you attend his class, participate in discussions (which may or may not pertain to class material), and turn in your assignments on time, you will get an A. Clark is very interesting and I think he is pretty funny as well. He is also very flexible. Definitely willing to help.

Basically impiles that the majority of his students are slackers. He asks a lot of questions that does not concern the subject matter of the class at times. He has high expectations for students that appear to be unclear.
