Nishida will bend over backwards to help you in anything as long as you show that you're willing to try. Go to class, read, speak up and you will get a decent grade. She'll make you earn it though.

At first I thought Professor Nishida was just a fear mongering spitfire. Over the semester I have come to love her. Her accent is hilarious, and she has a unique way of being humorous without being completely tangential. She comes up with nicknames for students and always references funny things that have happened earlier during the term.

Mieko Nishida is hilarious. She could come off as mean but she's so little and cute that she doesn't. She is very smart, very sensitive and a little outside of reality, but these are charming things. Just enjoy the show and the reading, she's a great teacher.

She does pick on students in class, went off on tangents about when she would hit menopause and how much she doesnt like men. she seems to be harder on women, english not that good. I did learn a bit from her, but shes a hard one to deal with...She has her obvious favorites, her least favorites and everyone else gets lost in the crowd

She is probably the best professor at Hartwick. Though she does pick on some people, she does not do it with mean intent. She is extremely helpful, giving me not only classroom advice but help with life in general. A real mentor and great person. Her accent is thick, but she knows the English langauge better than most of her students.
