This is my 2nd class with him. He really wants you to succeed & sets his class up so that you can. He is enthusiastic about the material and is always there if you need help. He encourages class participation, which makes you learn the material because you're answering his questions as he teaches it to you. I would take him again, without a doubt.

I had him in spring for MTH 090. He does give out a lot of homework and labs. They're counted for your grade. If you miss a lab or quiz, you can't make it up so make sure you show up for each lecture. He does give out tests and you have 3 chances to improve your grade. Overall, he's very nice and always available to help after hours.

He is definitely not my favorite, but he did teach the class fairly well. The work load is a bit much, but this is college. The average grade is not an A+ for his class.

I enjoyed this class, however the work load is a little over the top. It involves emailing him every week describing what you did well on, what you did poor on, and who you met with outside class to receive help. There are also homework problems out of the book, on webwork, and on mathmatica. Prepare for group assignments almost every other class.

He assigns homework to be completed throughout the course of the class, each with roughly 120 problems. He picks 2 OUT OF 120 PROBLEMS TO GRADE RANDOMLY. I spent countless hours each week working on these assignments and received no more than a 4 out of 20. Absolutely awful and asks way too much for a 100 level course. Absolutely ridiculous.

A very nice person, good professor but he forces the students to read the books and learn themselves. He teaches the basics elaborately so that you might understand the book. If you do your assignments in time then even A+ is easy. His grading system is excellent. He gives 3 chances to improve your scores. He is the best you can get right now.

He knows the subject but sucks at teaching it. You really have to teach yourself most of it. He has office hours where he can help you and there are tutors but when you're basically paying him to not teach when he should be, it gets frustrating.

Worst professor Ive ever had. Basically a self taught course. Should have never taken this class in the first place.

He gives ample amounts of trys to pass quizzes. Use the reflections well, learn from what you do wrong. His office hours are posted and will provide help outside of class. Many of the tutors where unhelpful for calculus 2, we held many study sessions in his office with him. He is passionate about teaching and learning. Would greatly recommend!

This was the hardest class I have ever taken. Not because the material is overly hard, but because he is a "I'll go over the real-life applications, and you teach yourself the material." HOWEVER!! He cares so much that he will sit down every office hour AND MORE every week of every month to make sure you complete every assignment, understand + pass

The way he teaches calc 1 is mostly self taught. He knows his stuff, but not how to teach it. He does not provide many examples in class and will spend an hour doing a single problem. Very boring class overall.

I took Calc 1 with Simkani during the Spring 2012 term. I can honestly say I have never had a professor who is more willing to help. Take advantage of his office hours and really attempt to do the homework, if you do these two things the exams will be MUCH easier.

Terrible teacher. He expects you to read the chapters and be able to understand everything from that alone. When I told him that reading the book did not help me he could not understand why. He never did any examples so I let him know that is how I learn and he did do a few more. He knows his calculus, but not how to teach it/

I took three of my calculus classes with Simkani and I wouldn't have taken anyone else. He was always extremely helpful during his office hours and I learned a lot by his method of teaching. I even dropped out of King's class to take his instead. I actually graduated a few years ago, and he's one of the few profs who I admired through my academic

Professor Simkani was awesome. I took his class last spring, and it was a piece of cake. Tons of homework problems were assigned, but they were never collected. He gave them so that we would know how to do everything on the test. Go to office hours and study the assigned problems and you should have NO problem getting an A!
