Comment:
Very engaging, obviously knows his stuff. The course material is going to be challenging to most people, but if you pay attention to his notes, you will be okay; the notes are probably the most important thing to have. Gives you time to practice cataloguing during class, which is really helpful.

Mac is fun and really hands off. He often a lots the last half an hour or so of class to practice/get a jump on it. You can use this time as you please, so if you prefer to work on your cataloging someplace away from everyone you can do that as well. He's a joker and some people might not like it. It's a bit of a hard subject so talk to him lots.

I found mac was difficult to follow and not good at answering my questions he was also condescending of my concerns about my progress. He's a very nice person, but lazy when it comes to teaching, he tries to get away with as little as possible and marks were often late. One perk = little to no homework. My advice: practice at home!

Mac's a really good teacher but a lot of ppl are scared of him bcs he has a really old teaching style. Advice: pay attention bcs the subjects he teaches are complex; ask lots of questions; don't be offended when he doesn't remember your name and when he teases you

Mac's a good teacher, he really is, but his teaching style clashes with my learning style. I didn't like that he assigned Cataloguing assignments as group work, that's my biggest problem. But he's very very helpful when you need it the most. He really came through for me this year. Great guy, difficult marker, fear-inspiring teacher.

He was a great prof. Some people were afraid of him but he really knew his stuff and he is very passionate about books/cataloguing etc. He was very intelligent and I appreciated everything he did to help us learn and love books like he did.

Here's a guy who strikes fear in the hearts of students. Learn all you can from texts, or take an evening course with another teacher. That's what other smart students have started doing.
