He's a nice guy. He knows about as much as a prof should. His compositions were cutting edge 50 years ago. He will teach you what you need to go on after. I personally feel that he judges music solely on a visual aspect and not the actual audible result. He does have quite an ego, don't challenge it.

Comment:

This guy is a great teacher! He knows SO much, his compositions are cutting edge, he's a fantastic guitarist! I've taken multiple classes with him from microtonal composition to harmony, to rock 101, and I've learned A LOT from him. Whoever is unimpressed with him probably shouldn't be in University anyways!

He was a terrible teacher, most students were very lost after the first week of classes. When you ask him to explain class material differently because you dont understand the way he was explaining at first he just tells you to get the tutor. He also has a huge ego.

His Electronic music class was tiring and boring, but I did learn a lot. He loves the subject, so his enthusiasm is good. The textbook was useless, just study the notes and you're set. His tests were really easy if you just study.

Thank God this guy can compose, because -- without a doubt -- he is the worst professor I've ever had in my life. Just because someone wins a Juno Award for composition; that doesn't mean they can teach.
