Favorite professor here so far. Unfortunately he only came back for Spring 2014 because the department is understaffed. He understands and explains the concepts clearly while making class bearable with jokes. Would take any math with him

My favorite math professor in this department. A shame he only came back to teach for this semester. Would recommend for any math class.

Horrible teacher, from the very beginning he did not present a clear method of teaching material from the book. The book was terribly written and hard to understand. His final was impossible and not written in proper English. He consistently lectures on the philosophy of math rather than teaching the material.

The class is extremely hard. He does not answer questions very well. He focuses on proper English more than Math. He is easily distracted and is a poor teacher. He attacks you if you don't answer questions, then when you do he won't answer them. He is very frustrating to deal with

Do you understand? If you take his classes, this line will haunt your dreams. If you ask a question, he jumps all over you and hates when you don't get it because it means you weren't paying attention. He is a terrible teacher.

Exceptionally tough course to begin with, and those who say he says "do you see this" a lot are right on the money. As a person, Dr. Rubaii is quite nice and very funny. His humor is often self depricating and sarcastic, which I like, so he won me over there. The most important thing in his class is this: ASK QUESTIONS! He'll try and help at least.

Inorder to get a good grade in his class is to show up and participate with questions.Show you're interest in the work and read the text.It also helps to attend extra help outside of class.Get all the homework done and pass your tests, which aren't too bad, just the grading system is different. My #1 advice is to participate and read the material!!

I just took his math final. He said 60% of the test would be certain questions in the book. I spent almost all of my time studying those questions. NONE of the questions he listed were on the exam. A complete waste of my time. I hope he retires.

If he put more structure into the class he would be a much better teacher. His fault lies on the fact that he puts too much responsibility on the shoulders of his students. I would not recommend taking him unless you are serious about math. His grading however is fair and down to earth.

This teacher is completely horrendous. I have a 4.0 GPA and I still couldn't understand this guy. I went to ASAP to get help and still couldn't understand. He pretty much chastized me for going to ASAP and not going to him. The book SUCKS and is from like 1920. Definately take this class at a community college if your not good with math already

I took calculus B with this professor and he is rediculously difficult. He simply DOES the problems in the book without going over HOW to do them. He moves relatively fast and IS willing to help you, but when he does it is very confusing and it is HIS way or the highway, and he does a lot of things that the average student would never fathom to do

Prof. Rubaii has been the most influencial teacher that I have ever had. Not only was this the first time I ever read my entire math text, it was also the first time I ever had the strength to particpate in class without fear of sounding like an idiot. Rubaii encourages his students to love mathematics, and ultimately to succeed. I <3 Prof. Rubaii

Ok...this class was the most difficult class I have EVER taken...but he is willing to help and even if you may not understand what he is telling you... if you go see him and he knows your name... your grade will benefit... so if you HAVE to take this class the only way you will get a good grade is if you go and see him during office hours :/

I had him for calculus A thats the calc for NON MATH MAJORS This guy expects you to know the math before entering the class He doesnt teach procedures just goes over the problems in the book. The textbook is horrendous as it doesn't teach you how to do anything just supplies problems. Dont count on a curve as he seems to pick final grades at random

Worst professor I've ever had in any subject at any level of school. I've tried taking this class 2 semesters in a row and dropped it twice. Take it over the summer at a CC if you can.

I only made it to the 3rd week of class before I decided to drop it. He feels that the students should be able to teach themselvs calculus and he doesnt want you to go to ASAP for extra help. When you do go for help he is unhelpful and says basicly that it is your fault that you dont understand because you dont work hard enough. AVOID HIM!!!
