To say that this prof is serious about design would be an understatement. He seems to live for it. His class takes good listening and hard work. He emphasizes some fundamental concepts that I think will be very helpful in any young designer's future. my grade for the class is terrible but all together i'm glad i took his course.

the worst teacher in the department who claimed he has good technique and futuristic style. in fact, his style was hot in '60s, not in presence. he is really favor his rendering technique and not allow students develop their technique. overall, fayek is an idiot who was lucky got a full time job with unhelpful and boring class.

i got an F for some reason, i turned almost everything in except for some of his sketches...now i have to meet with him in order for me to get this ridiculous grade changed. Do not take him if u are an industrial design major and even if you are an interior major dont. He has skills but is a horrible teacher.

I am now in my 2nd year and I still think this was the hardest design class I have taken. (It may be a good intro to such a challenging & competitive major). It is hard to figure out what he wants at first, but once you do, it is possible to get a good grade because he lets you redo the assignments.

he keeps saying that design is about communication. well how can he say that when no one can hear him. he speaks english but mumbles and goes off on wild tangents about peppers and corks. if youre serious about design and you want to get a good education, steer clear of him as much as possible.

He has a bad rating among students but if you ask a lot of questions, dont leave class early and follow out what he wants you will get a decent grade. Fayek's class is a waste of time. You don't get to design anything, instead you follow his designs which are out-dated and from the 80's. His critiques are no help, constructive criticism is what he needs to give. I suggest taking Westerkamp instead!!!!!

Fayek's assignments are based on process. Demos are a bit drawn out but if you follow the steps you will do well in the class. The sketches will benefit you most in future classes. He likes interaction and appreciates office visits. He is a perfectionist.
